Oversee Key Functions & Departments: Plant Maintenance : Ensure the availability and reliability of all machinery, equipment, and facilities through robust maintenance programs. Safety & Environment : Drive a culture of safety and environmental compliance, implementing industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is highly advantageous. Certifications in Safety Management, Quality Management, or Process Improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO Lead Auditor) are preferred. Preferred Experience: 15+ years of experience in technical operations or infrastructure management, preferably within shipbuilding, heavy engineering, or a related industry. The ideal candidate will oversees all operations at the SCS, ensuring efficient assembly, integration, and outfitting of blocks into full ships, as well as ship repair operations in SCS area. This includes managing departments such as Engineering and Outfitting, Habitability, EE&I, Hull Integration (incl. B&P), Trials and Commissioning, and Dock Master Operations. Additionally, the role requires coordinating with stakeholders such as procurement, stores, contractors and the Block Construction Site (BCS) to deliver vessels on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with international regulations. Responsibilities Strategic Planning: Lead overall SCS operations and provide strategic leaderships to as Engineering and Outfitting, Habitability, EE&I, Hull Integration (incl. B&P), Trials and Commissioning, and Dock Master Operations. Coordinate with other departments such as project management, design, procurement, BCS and quality control to garner and lend necessary resources and support to ensure timely execution of projects. Project Execution & Delivery: Define project milestones, key deliverables, and deadlines for each phase of construction, including dry dock and hardstand activities. Develop and oversee detailed work plans for shipbuilding and repair projects across hull integration, outfitting, B&P etc., ensuring alignment of schedules and resources. Ensure efficient utilization of SCS infra, monitor all SCS operations, track executions adherence and enforce corrective actions as needed to ensure timely execution. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying process enhancements to drive operational excellence, minimize bottlenecks, reduce downtime and rework. Proactively conducts audits, identify risks, devise mitigation strategies, and implement solutions to ensure uninterrupted operations. Financial Oversight: Directly manage the financial performance of the Ship Construction Site, tracking expenditures and implementing cost-control strategies. Monitor expenses related to materials, labor, tools, and consumables to prevent cost overruns. Quality Control & Compliance: Implement rigorous quality standards across all ship construction activities, conducting regular audits to confirm compliance with industry and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with the quality control team to address and resolve any issues, implementing corrective measures where necessary. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying process enhancements to drive operational excellence and reduce rework. Ensure regulatory compliance in all quality control activities, aligning with ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental protection, and industry-specific product certification standards for shipbuilding/ Ship repair. Workforce Management: Allocate resources effectively across various teams, set performance goals, conduct performance reviews and provide regular feedback to team members.
