We will count on you to:

Bring in QA experience to help define our product testing framework, produce testing plans and write the actual test cases to deliver the testing strategy. Our products are built on a combination of custom-built web applications, off the shelf analytics platforms with core focus on data quality. You will be expected to design and write test plans for these products, help ensure quality metrics are met, capture software/data bugs and diagnose issues in our development process. This role will report to the MMB Analytics Data Governance Lead.

Roles and Responsibilities will include –

• Test Planning:

• Develop and execute test plans, stories, scenarios, scripts, and procedures for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) or Data Quality processes.

• Execute test plans to assess products against defined functionality, performance, usability and reliability criteria
• Data Verification:
• Verify data completeness, data accuracy, and data integrity throughout the ETL / Data Quality process by performing various tests such as data profiling, data validation, and data reconciliation.
• Defect Management:
• Identify, document, and track defects in defect tracking systems, collaborating with developers and stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
• Investigate end-user issues and identify potential causes for feedback to developers
• Regression Testing:
• Conduct regression testing to ensure that changes to the ETL/Data Quality processes do not adversely affect existing functionality.
• Performance Testing:
• Assess the performance of ETL/Data Quality jobs by monitoring system resource utilization, data throughput, and response times.
• General QA requirements:
• Use your experience and skillset to help implement QA best practices
• Advise on preferred QA technologies, frameworks and processes
• Run manual & exploratory tests, and design testing scripts for the release of new data & analytics products
• Build out the automated testing codebase, and ensure tests are executed as part of the deployment pipeline
• Collaboration:
• Collaborate with DQ engineers, data analysts, and data visualizers to ensure quality across all stages of the ETL/Data Quality product lifecycle

What you need to have:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in data QA/testing role.
• Experience using Selenium for automated testing
• Proven experience as a data specific QA Team Lead, QA Engineer or similar role
• Masters/bachelor’s degree in information sciences/ engineering, or equivalent
• Understand full end-to-end testing lifecycle involved in software/product development
• Strong understanding of web development languages and practices
• Experience in Jest or an equivalent JavaScript unit testing framework
• Proficiency using Cypress or an equivalent E2E testing software framework
• Experience evaluating testing outcomes against acceptance criteria
• Ability to provide clear information on the state of a product for release
• Experience in logging and tracking bugs and defects using JIRA or similar software
• Familiarity with AWS services and/or similar cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with languages such as SQL, Python, R etc.
• Knowledge of Python scripts and applications
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience of working with international stakeholders
