  Role Overview: As a Lead Software Engineer within our enterprise product domain, you will play a pivotal role as both an expert individual contributor and a technical multiplier. You will be responsible for guiding your squad through complex and often ambiguous challenges, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions that align with long-term business goals. You will provide technical leadership, coach and mentor engineers, and drive engineering excellence across the team. Working closely with Engineering Leads, Principal Engineers and Architects, you’ll shape technical direction, influence strategic decisions, and foster a strong culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. With a passion for frontend technologies and a holistic mindset, you will help elevate both the technical capabilities and the impact of your squad. Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities: • Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable software that delivers customer and business value. • Provide technical leadership by guiding engineering priorities, architectural decisions, and development best practices. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including stakeholders, product managers, designers, and engineers—to define, build, and deliver impactful solutions. • Lead and contribute to design, code, and test reviews, promoting engineering standards and continuous improvement. • Champion DevOps practices by ensuring software are continuously integrated, tested, released, and monitored in production. • Mentor and support engineers, fostering a culture of growth, feedback, and technical excellence. • Drive improvements in code quality, performance, and development efficiency through proactive problem-solving and innovation. • Maintain system reliability by integrating observability and support tooling, and by troubleshooting issues throughout the software lifecycle. • Influence technical direction and contribute to architectural decisions aligned with evolving business needs. • Explore and assess emerging technologies to support continuous innovation and strategic goals. Required Skills & Experience: • Minimum of 8 years’ professional experience in senior or lead software engineering roles, with demonstrable involvement across the full software development lifecycle, including production support. • Proven ability to design and deliver scalable, maintainable, and high-quality software solutions across diverse programming languages and frameworks. • Deep expertise in front-end technologies, including TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks such as React.js, Redux, and Redux-Saga. • Advanced back-end development experience with Node.js, including the design and implementation of RESTful APIs, JSON handling, and scalable server-side architecture. • Strong understanding of web architecture, DNS, and web server technologies. • Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript across both client-side and server-side development. • Experience with Redis for caching/session management and working knowledge of DocumentDB or similar NoSQL databases. • Extensive hands-on expertise with AWS cloud infrastructure, including EKS, EC2/VMs, and cloud-native architectural patterns. • Skilled in the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, leveraging tools such as GitLab for source control, deployment automation, and release management. • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform. • Well-versed in test automation, with practical experience using Jest, Mocha, Chai, and familiarity with SonarQube for code quality analysis and technical debt management. • Comprehensive understanding of software engineering best practices, including clean architecture, performance optimisation, accessibility standards (WCAG), and other non-functional requirements. • Strong advocate of Agile delivery and DevOps principles, with experience in iterative and incremental development processes. • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of leading the implementation of complex technical solutions. • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring engineers, conducting peer reviews, and driving a culture of engineering excellence within co-located and distributed teams. • Effective communicator with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders, influence architectural decisions, and align technical solutions with business goals. • Self-driven and accountable, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced and evolving environments. • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
