Role summary
Align is currently seeking a Software Engineer, ServiceNow (Legal Service Delivery) to join our DWTechOps organization. This position will lead the design, development, and deployment of a custom-scoped application tailored to the needs of legal departments and organizations. This role demands an experienced developer with a proven track record of building sophisticated workflows, integrating third-party services, and delivering seamless, secure user experiences on the ServiceNow platform. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with legal, compliance, and IT teams to translate legal requirements into scalable and maintainable ServiceNow applications and integrations.
Role expectations
- Design and architect a custom scoped ServiceNow application tailored to manage legal contract workflows, incorporating advanced form logic, workflow design, and automation.
- Develop contract creation and authoring modules, leveraging ServiceNow’s scripting and form design tools. Where out-of-the-box features are not available, implement custom solutions using ServiceNow’s platform capabilities.
- Integrate the application with secure, centralized contract repositories (e.g., OneDrive), ensuring robust storage, retrieval, and access control for contract documents.
- Create configurable contract templates supporting standard clauses, terms, and conditions to accelerate contract generation and compliance.
- Build and refine automated workflows for contract approval, including support for complex routing, escalation, and notification logic, leveraging ServiceNow Flow Designer and business rules.
- Develop data models and custom reports to deliver actionable insights into contract lifecycle, request volumes, approval bottlenecks, and compliance status.
- Implement and customize DocuSign eSignature integrations for digital contract execution and audit trails, using ServiceNow’s pre-built integration spokes and REST APIs as required.
- Evaluate and implement secure external user interfaces or portals as needed, balancing usability, access control, and data protection.
- Ensure all developments adhere to best practices in security, compliance (e.g., GDPR, SOX), and ServiceNow development standards.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for ServiceNow applications, troubleshooting issues and implementing necessary fixes or enhancements.
- Produce thorough technical documentation, user guides, and provide knowledge transfer to administrators and end-users.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives as part of a cross-functional project team.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, emerging integration technologies, and best practices, and provide guidance on integrating new platforms and systems.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- ServiceNow Development: Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience developing scoped applications, scripting (JavaScript, Glide), and integrating ServiceNow modules.
- Workflow & Automation: In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow Flow Designer, Business Rules, Scheduled Jobs, and Workflow Editor.
- Integration: Experience integrating ServiceNow with external APIs, repositories (SharePoint, OneDrive), and third-party e-signature tools (DocuSign, Adobe Sign).
- UI/UX Design: Proficiency in building ServiceNow Forms, Service Portal widgets, Catalog Items, and dashboards with a focus on intuitive, responsive user experiences.
- Data Modelling & Management: Ability to design effective data models, manage tables, relationships, and ensure data integrity for legal information.
- Security & Compliance: Strong understanding of IT security, ServiceNow ACLs, RBAC, encryption, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, SOC2, etc.).
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues, debug code, and identify process bottlenecks within complex legal workflows.
- Documentation: Ability to create clear, detailed technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Agile/Scrum Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum principles, user story writing, and iterative delivery.
- Certifications: Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer are highly desirable.
Complimentary Skills
- Experience with AI/ML-powered workflow automation or integrations within ServiceNow.
- Experience with Legal Service Delivery module or similar legal tech platforms is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with legal domain workflows, document management, or contract lifecycle management systems.
- Understanding of OAuth2, SAML, and modern identity management protocols.
- Experience with ServiceNow Performance Analytics and Custom Reporting.
- Previous exposure to DocuSign configuration and advanced eSignature use-cases.
