How will you make an impact in this role?


We are in looking for a strong Agile Quality Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will join an existing Agile Development team building and improving on an exciting product portfolio within a dynamic and energetic team. This position suits someone who can hit the ground running, form good working relationships quickly and add value by introducing best practice design and techniques learned elsewhere. The successful candidate will be able to know when to stand their ground, and when to “let things be”.  While the whole team is responsible for quality, it is the QAE who will guide those efforts to ensure Quality throughout the product development lifecycle. 


Responsibilities:

       Serve as a member of an agile team that drives user story analysis and elaboration, designs and develops software applications, and tests and builds automation tools. 


       Analyze and decompose a complicated software system and design a strategy to test this system.

       Utilize best-of-breed technologies to build a layered, component-based, service-oriented testing architecture over existing American Express technologies

       Development of Automation and Testing in a CI/CD environment.

       Work with Engineers to drive improvements in code quality via manual and automated Testing.

       Develop Test Plans, Strategies and scheduling of test activity.

       Create and execute Test cases/scripts at any level as required (Unit, Integration, Component Integration, System Integration, Exploratory).

       Maintain organization of Test case suites (BVT/Regression/Targeted Regression).

       Validate and report on test results for software quality improvement.

       Coordinate “Quality at Every Step” – Involved in the review of the user story backlog and requirements specifications for completeness and weaknesses in function, performance, reliability, scalability, testability, usability, and security and compliance testing, and provides recommendations.

       Work with Product Owners to prioritize features, maintain documentation and known issues.

       Provides guidance and subject matter expertise to engineers on testing and Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies and processes.

       Reviews progress and make recommendations for areas of opportunities/improvements for automation & tool usage.

       Looks beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities.

       Identify and illuminate risks to the whole team when identified at any stage of planning or development.

       Coordinate with other QAEs in the platform to ensure cross contamination of changes does not have an adverse effect on the platform.

       Coordinate with other QAEs to ensure a consistent messaging across the platform as it relates to Quality.

Must be a hands-on person


       Demonstrable coding skills in Tosca is a must

       Working knowledge of Selenium is preferred

       Strong programming skills in Java or Python is necessary

       Working knowledge on rest-assured API test automation and BDD/Cucumber

       Demonstrable experience in automation of Oracle Fusion Cloud (SaaS) and On-Prem EBS Application 12.2.9

       Should have prior experience of Automation framework development for UI and API testing

       6-8 years of equivalent experience in related disciplines

       Experience working at a product company, representing the customer, and functionally validating products

       Experience working in high-performing development teams using agile methodologies and tools

       Knowledge of developing trends and emerging standards in relevant fields

Academic Background:


Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Engineering or 6-8 years of equivalent experience in related disciplines

Functional Skills/Capabilities:


Demonstrated technical capabilities and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a range of stakeholders

Technical Skills/Capabilities:


       Proven record of whitebox and blackbox testing capabilities in an enterprise setting is a plus

       Expertise in validating complex, high performing and distributed technologies on UNIX and

       Windows based infrastructure

       Thorough understanding of testing and automation capabilities such as mocking frameworks, JUNIT, TESTNG,

       Jenkins, maven, Git, GitHub Actions, JIRA, Rally


       Should have implemented or worked on Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery

       Thorough understanding of JSON, Web Services Technologies

       Exposure to NO SQL, and SQL capabilities is a plus

       Experience in Cucumber or BDD framework is a plus

       Knowledge of Platforms: Windows / Unix

       Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS/GCP is a plus
