SSAB Special Steels is looking for a proactive, effective, and performance-driven Site Manager for our new cutting and bending center in Taloja, Navi Mumbai. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator, someone who always conducts business with high ethical standards, and a detail-oriented professional with a passion for numbers.

About The Position

Responsible for Navi Mumbai plant’s management with developing and implement SSAB strategy, policy and procedures, meanwhile ensure the organizations comply with all applicable related national and local laws and regulations. Be the responsible party for everything related to the distribution center in Navi Mumbai.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all company safety practices and procedures are adhered to by all production, shipping/receiving and maintenance staff and leads by example; to include participating in health & safety meetings, continual improvement of health & safety procedures, and all company safety objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Initiate plans and procedures which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital. Assure attainment of business objectives and productions schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations. Ensure that all workings are manufactured in a correct, cost effective and timely manner in alignment with specifications and quality requirements. Setup and improve operational systems, processes and best practices that guarantee organizational well-being.
  • Contribute towards the achievement of company’s strategic and operational objectives; to include examination of financial data/statements and utilize them to improve profitability; perform quality controls and monitor production KPI’s; and assist with recruiting, training, supervision, performance evaluations, employee development and succession planning.
  • Identifies, recommends and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data; directs the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports as required to Sales Director (i.e., weekly, monthly). Communicate on a weekly basis the status, including order intake, utilization rate, lead times, delivery performance etc., to the Sales organization, primarily to the ASM and the Sales Director.

About You

  • Minimum 5–8 years in steel fabrication, manufacturing, or distribution, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Proven track record in managing site operations, including production planning, workforce coordination, and safety compliance.
  • Experience in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination.
  • Exposure to CNC systems or steel industry-specific software for inventory and production tracking.
  • Understanding of ISO 9000 and 14000 standards.
