Job Title: Senior SEO Executive

Department: Marketing Operations

Location: On-Site - Kolkata

Employment Type: Full-time


Role Overview:

The Senior SEO Executive is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing SEO strategies to drive organic search performance, improve rankings, and maximize traffic and conversions. This role also includes leveraging knowledge of media buying to support paid campaigns, ensuring an integrated approach to digital marketing.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, data-driven, and creative — capable of aligning SEO efforts with broader marketing objectives while staying updated on industry trends, search engine algorithms, and competitive landscapes.


Key Responsibilities:


1. SEO Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Conduct detailed keyword research, competitor analysis, and market trend studies to identify opportunities.
  • Optimize website architecture, content, and internal linking for maximum search visibility.
  • Manage on-page SEO (meta tags, headings, schema markup, page speed, mobile-friendliness, etc.).
  • Oversee off-page SEO efforts, including link-building campaigns and partnerships with relevant publishers.
  • Perform regular SEO audits and implement actionable improvements.
  • Track and report on KPIs — organic traffic, keyword rankings, CTR, bounce rate, conversions.


2. Content Collaboration

  • Work closely with content, creative, and product teams to ensure SEO best practices are applied across all digital assets.
  • Provide SEO content briefs and guidance for blogs, landing pages, product descriptions, and ad copies.


3. Technical SEO

  • Collaborate with developers to resolve technical issues affecting crawlability, indexing, and site performance.
  • Monitor and optimize site speed, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and canonical tags.


4. Media Buying & Integrated Campaigns

  • Collaborate with the media buying team to ensure synergy between paid and organic campaigns.
  • Leverage paid media insights to guide keyword targeting and content creation.
  • Contribute to decisions on PPC, display ads, and retargeting campaigns, focusing on cost-efficiency and ROI.
  • Analyze performance across channels (SEO + paid) to optimize spend and organic performance together.


5. Analytics & Reporting

  • Use tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog to monitor performance.
  • Present detailed performance reports with insights and recommendations to management.
  • Stay updated on Google algorithm updates, industry shifts, and competitor activities, adjusting strategies proactively.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, IT, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in SEO (agency or in-house).
  • Strong knowledge of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and SEO tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog).
  • Proven track record of improving organic rankings, traffic, and conversions.
  • Familiarity with media buying platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, programmatic platforms).
  • Understanding of paid vs. organic synergies and ability to optimize integrated campaigns.
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, and reporting dashboards.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and website CMS (WordPress, Shopify, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO, SEM, and digital marketing.



Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience in programmatic media buying and A/B testing.
  • Knowledge of marketing automation tools and CRM systems.
  • Basic knowledge of JavaScript for technical SEO troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with international SEO and multi-language sites.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Growth in organic traffic and keyword rankings.
  • Improvement in organic conversions and ROI.
  • Reduction in cost-per-acquisition (CPA) through combined SEO + media buying efforts.
  • Timely execution of SEO audits and action items.
  • Contribution to overall digital marketing performance.
