Brief Job Overview
Based in India, this Senior Product Manager, Biologics position is an important role for the realization of USP’s Biologics Industry Solutions Strategy.Primary responsibility for the management of existing USP Biologics portfolio of Reference Standards and Analytical Reference materials, and have the opportunity to contribute to improving Global Quality and Supply of Biologics Drugs to patients globally, in collaboration with biopharmaceutical developers and manufacturers, product and technologies suppliers as well as United States and other countries Health Regulatory Agencies.Will be responsible for lifecycle management of current USP standards, ensuring that they are matching the needs and solving challenges faced by developers and manufacturers of drugs from different therapeutic areas such as peptides, antibiotics, heparins.Will participate in multiple marketing activities and processes including pricing, go-to-market strategy development, promotion plans and launch activities, working closely with USP colleagues from Science, Sales, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs, Communication, Digital teams and many others.You will obtain a deep understanding of customer needs as well as complex market and competitive dynamics and make recommendations to scientific and business leadership to increase growth of the business.You will prepare business cases and tactical plans globally, and with Regions, and will report performance regularly to senior leadership.You will have primary responsibility for developing global tactical marketing plans for a portion of USP reference standards portfolio.Finally, you will be a key member of the Biologics Industry Solutions team and will act as a change agent within the organization, fostering new ways of enhancing USP Biologics visibility on the market, growing sales, and ultimately creating value for biopharmaceutical community. This position is an individual contributor position with international business responsibility.

The Senior Product Manager, Biologics Has The Following Responsibilities
- Lead and/or support the development and execution of global and regional marketing programs to drive growth of the Biologics portfolio (including but not limited to Peptide, Antibiotics and Heparins) , in collaboration with field sales, scientific, and marketing partners.
- Collaborate closely with USP’s portfolio and scientific teams to support a robust product pipeline by providing insights from early-stage market assessments and identifying emerging market demand.
- Facilitate alignment among internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless release and addition of new products into the Biologics portfolio.
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to design and implement sustainable models for product launches and portfolio expansion initiatives.
- Drive new product launches , including cross-functional planning, commercialization strategy, product messaging, and lifecycle planning.
- Identify target customer segments, develop personas , and design lead generation and adoption, analyze market trends, and monitor competition to shape product strategies and targeted regional campaigns.
- Collaborate with scientific and regulatory colleagues to translate technical content into customer-centric messaging and marketing collateral.
- Build and maintain global stakeholder relationships , including biopharma companies, regulators, through regional teams to communicate high-impact, scientifically sound solutions.
- Support in developing the pricing models and support forecast planning through market research, NPV/ROI analysis, and competitive benchmarking.
- Monitor and report product performance metrics, sales trends, and customer feedback to support continuous improvement and portfolio growth .
Who is USP Looking For?
The Successful Candidate Will Have a Demonstrated Understanding Of Our Mission, Commitment To Excellence Through Inclusive And Equitable Behaviors And Practices, Ability To Quickly Build Credibility With Stakeholders, Along With The Following Competencies And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, or related field (required)
- Master’s degree or MBA in Marketing, Product Management, or Life Sciences (preferred)
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in product management, marketing, or commercial roles in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry
- Demonstrated experience in product launches , scientific content marketing , and stakeholder engagement in a regulated environment
- Familiarity with analytical standards, biologics, and regulatory expectations is a strong advantage
- Global exposure in portfolio or program leadership roles preferred
- Experience working with Global teams
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing to internal and external audiences, including to the leadership team, to foster collaboration, drive alignment, and achieve results.
- Ability to think creatively, approach work with an entrepreneurial mindset, and take the initiative despite minimal day-to-day oversight; ownership mindset to solve problems and drive the business.
Additional Desired Preferences
- Knowledge of biological manufacturing environment and processes, analytical testings and bioassays used in biologics drugs development and manufacturing.
- Familiar with biologics drugs clinical development and manufacturing regulatory environment
