Key Responsible Areas (KRAs) – Accounts Manager


Financial Reporting & Accuracy

  • Ensure preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with 100% accuracy and timeliness.

Compliance & Audit Management

  • Ensure adherence to all statutory compliances (GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESIC, ROC filings).
  • Achieve zero penalties and complete statutory/internal audits within defined timelines.

Cash Flow & Budgeting

  • Prepare and monitor annual budgets with variance analysis.
  • Maintain healthy cash flow by timely collections and efficient fund utilization.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor the accounts team to ensure productivity, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Conduct training sessions and performance reviews periodically.

Process & Systems Improvement

  • Implement ERP/accounting systems and automation for efficiency.
  • Standardize accounting processes to minimize manual errors and delays.

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain transparent communication with management, banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Build and manage strong vendor, client, and supplier relationships.

Strategic Financial Planning

  • Provide management with financial projections, forecasts, and insights to support decision-making.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability.

Risk Management & Controls

  • Develop internal controls to prevent fraud and financial irregularities.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks (credit, compliance, liquidity).

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Ensure timely vendor payments and contract compliance.
  • Negotiate favorable payment and credit terms to optimize working capital.

Tax Planning & Optimization

  • Manage direct and indirect taxation efficiently to minimize liabilities within legal framework.
  • Prepare for assessments, scrutiny, and regulatory queries with proper documentation.

Board/Management Reporting

  • Present periodic financial performance reports, budget vs. actual analysis, and forecasts to senior management/board.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to support strategic goals.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Operations, HR, and Procurement to align budgets and cost controls.
  • Ensure timely allocation and utilization of funds across departments.


Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Finance, or related field (CA/ICWA preferred but not mandatory).
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in accounts, finance, and team management.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, taxation, and compliance.
  • Hands-on experience in ERP/accounting software (Tally, SAP, Zoho, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
