SAP Consultant

Position Overview

The SAP EHSM AMS Consultant (Functional Support & Developments) is responsible for providing comprehensive L2/L3 functional support for Environment, Health, and Safety Management (EHSM) processes within SAP. This role acts as a functional partner to the ABAP development team, facilitating minor enhancements and custom developments. The position is ideal for professionals with 5–9 years of SAP experience, including at least 4 years of hands-on exposure to SAP EHSM. The consultant will be in Mumbai and will be engaged under Application Management Services (AMS).

Role Summary

The consultant ensures operational stability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of SAP EHSM integrated solutions. Responsibilities include offering functional expertise in EHSM business processes, supporting integration with core SAP modules, and providing guidance for application enhancements and troubleshooting. A solid understanding of Web Dynpro ABAP–based EHSM applications is required.

Key Responsibilities

AMS Functional Support (L2/L3)

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 AMS support for SAP EHSM, addressing incidents, service requests, and problem tickets.
• Support end-to-end EHSM business processes, such as:
• Incident and Accident Management
• Risk Assessment and Safety Measures
• Management of Change (MoC)
• Occupational Health & Safety
• Environmental Compliance

Conduct thorough root cause analysis to implement permanent solutions.

Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

EHSM Application & Process Support

• Support and troubleshoot issues related to EHSM applications and workflows.
• Assist business users with data concerns, authorisation queries, and process execution challenges.
• Provide support for configuration activities, including:
• EHSM organisational structure
• Roles, workflows, and risk matrices
• Action tracking and compliance monitoring

Functional Support for Developments

• Serve as the functional owner for minor enhancements and AMS-driven developments.
• Collaborate closely with ABAP development teams to articulate EHSM business processes and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to functional solution design and offer relevant inputs.
• Draft functional specifications for workflow modifications, validation and control enhancements, as well as custom reports and dashboards.
• Review technical designs to ensure functional accuracy.

Web Dynpro Application Support (Basic)

• Provide functional support for EHSM screens developed using Web Dynpro ABAP.
• Assist in defining requirements related to user interface, including fields, validations, and screen behaviour.
• Perform functional testing of Web Dynpro enhancements and fixes.
• Coordinate the resolution of navigation and data display issues within Web Dynpro applications.

Testing, Transport & Change Management

• Conduct unit testing and functional validation of EHSM solutions.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles, address defects, and facilitate business sign-off.
• Participate in change management discussions, including Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
• Assist with system transports and ensure post-production validation.

Integration & Cross-Module Coordination

• Support integration of EHSM with other SAP modules, such as:
• SAP PM for maintenance safety
• SAP MM for materials, chemicals, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
• SAP HR / SuccessFactors for health data, where applicable

Work in coordination with cross-functional teams to resolve end-to-end issues.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Maintain comprehensive AMS documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Known Error Database (KEDB), and functional design/configuration documents.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and assist with onboarding of new team members.

Skills & Competencies

Mandatory Functional Skills

• Strong SAP EHSM configuration and AMS support capabilities.
• Thorough understanding of safety, health, and environmental compliance processes.
• Hands-on experience in incident management and risk assessment.
• Experience in production support and AMS environments.

Technical & Development Exposure

• Experience collaborating with ABAP teams for EHSM enhancements.
• Basic knowledge of Web Dynpro ABAP.
• Ability to analyse functional issues and support technical debugging.

Preferred Skills

• SAP EHSM certification.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA EHSM.
• Exposure to audits, statutory compliance, and regulatory reporting.
• ITIL certification.
