Job Description: QC Head – Ready Mix Concrete and Precast

Position Title: QC Head

Department: Quality Control / Technical

Location: Hanspal Bhubaneswar

Reporting To: CMD,ED Sir and Business Head

1. Job Purpose

To lead and manage the Quality Control function for Ready Mix Concrete plants, ensuring consistent production of concrete that meets required standards, specifications, customer requirements, and statutory norms. Responsible for mix design, raw material quality, production quality, and continuous improvement across all plants.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Quality Management

• Establish, monitor, and enforce quality standards across all RMC plants.
• Approve mix designs, batch trials, and adjustments based on performance.
• Conduct routine raw material testing (cement, aggregates, admixtures, water).
• Implement and monitor SOPs for sampling, testing, calibration, and plant operations.

B. Laboratory & Testing

• Oversee central and plant-level laboratories and ensure proper equipment calibration.
• Supervise testing of fresh and hardened concrete (slump, temperature, cube tests, NDT etc.).
• Maintain proper documentation and traceability of test results.

C. Process Control & Improvements

• Analyse quality deviations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Optimize mix designs for cost efficiency without compromising quality.
• Drive process improvements using statistical tools and root cause analysis.

D. Supplier & Material Management

• Approve and monitor suppliers for aggregates, cement, admixtures, and other materials.
• Conduct periodic evaluation of raw material performance and consistency.

E. Customer Coordination

• Provide technical support to customers, consultants, and project teams.
• Handle site-related quality complaints and resolve issues promptly.
• Participate in pre-pour meetings, site visits, and technical presentations.

F. Team Management

• Lead a team of QC Engineers, Lab Technicians, and Plant QC Personnel.
• Conduct training on testing procedures, safety, and quality systems.
• Ensure manpower planning for all QC activities.

G. Compliance & Audit

• Prepare QC reports, audit documentation, and monthly MIS.
• Conduct internal quality audits for RMC plants.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of RMC operations, materials, and concrete technology.
• Hands-on experience with mix design , durability tests, and advanced concrete technologies.
• Data analysis and problem-solving ability.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer handling.

4. Qualifications

• Education: B.Tech / M.Tech in Civil Engineering (preferred: specialization in Concrete Technology or Materials).
• Experience: 8–15+ years in Quality Control, including significant experience in RMC.
• Experience managing multi-plant QC operations is a strong advantage.

5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Mix performance consistency (slump variation, cube strength compliance).
• Reduction in customer complaints and rejections.
• QC compliance score from audits.
• Material cost optimization through improved mix designs.
• Safety and calibration compliance.
• Turnaround time for issue resolution.

6. Work Environment

• Mainly plant-based role with frequent site visits.
• Requires coordination with operations, logistics, maintenance, and sales teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹125,000.00 per month
