Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Chennai & Madurai for a Purchase Manager. The Purchase Manager will oversee procurement activities, manage supplier relationships, and negotiate contracts to achieve cost efficiency. The role includes ensuring timely procurement of materials, maintaining inventory levels, and coordinating with other departments for on-time project delivery. The individual will assess supplier performance, ensure compliance with quality standards, and support the development of cost-saving strategies to improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute procurement activities for façade materials including ACP, glass, aluminum profiles, hardware, sealants, and accessories
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and suppliers
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts to ensure cost efficiency
• Prepare purchase orders (POs) and ensure compliance with company policies
• Coordinate with project and site teams to understand material requirements and timelines
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely availability of materials at project sites
• Ensure quality standards and specifications are met as per drawings and BOQs
• Track deliveries, resolve shortages, damages, or discrepancies with suppliers
• Work closely with accounts for invoice verification, GRN, and payment processing
• Analyze market trends, price fluctuations, and alternative sourcing options
• Maintain accurate procurement records, MIS reports, and vendor databases

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Purchase Manager or Senior Purchase Executive in construction / façade industry
• Strong knowledge of façade materials, specifications, and procurement cycles
• Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and cost-control skills
• Ability to read and understand drawings, BOQs, and material specifications
• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and purchase documentation
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and coordination abilities

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience in façade contracting companies is highly preferred
• Knowledge of GST, import procurement, and logistics is an added advantage
• Ability to handle multiple projects and urgent procurement requirements
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability
