This position involves leading projects from start to finish, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing. Additionally, the position involves mentoring junior team members and supporting change management initiatives.
What you’ll be doingWhat will your essential responsibilities include?
- Lead projects from initiation through closure, including planning, execution, monitoring and reporting.
- Define scope, schedule, resource plan, budget, risks, and deliverables in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders.
- Drive execution of project plans and ensure accountability across project team members.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project communications, updates, and escalations.
- Facilitate status meetings, steering committee discussions, alignment sessions.
- Prepare and deliver clear and concise project updates and dashboard for senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with AXA XL’s governance framework including PSR reviews, RAG status updates, Planview entries, and project documentation.
- Actively manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation plans and facilitating resolution.
- Lead gate review and quality checks to ensure delivery is aligned with organizational expectations.
- Track budget, forecast changes, and monitor financial performance.
- Ensure appropriate resource allocation and availability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Partner with vendor teams and third-party partners where applicable.
- Identify opportunities to improve project delivery methods and adopt best practices.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and mentor junior team members when appropriate.
- Support organizational change management efforts in alignment with project goals.

Required Skills And Abilities
- Relevant years of hands-on experience managing medium to large-scale projects in a cross-functional, enterprise environment.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Planview, JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Suite, Power BI).
- Robust knowledge of project management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstream simultaneously and deliver results under pressure.
- Effective financial acumen in tracking budgets, forecasts, and vendor invoices.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Information Technology, or related field.
Desired Skills And Abilities
- PMP, or Agile/Scrum certifications preferred.
- Experience working in global or matrixed organizations, ideally within insurance, technology, or financial services.
- Familiarity with risk and compliance frameworks.
- Outstanding analytical mindset and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience leading transformation, modernization, or digital enablement projects.
