Product Development Manager – Recruitment Software (External Consultant)


Location: Remote


Duration: Contract-based-Flexible


Experience: Minimum 8+ years in Recruitment Software / RMS Product Development


Role Overview

Product Development Manager


Key Responsibilities


  • Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and refine the product vision for recruitment software based on market trends, user feedback, and business goals.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in existing RMS/ATS platforms and propose scalable solutions.
  • Roadmap & Execution

  • Develop and manage product roadmaps, prioritizing features that improve recruiter efficiency, candidate experience, and data insights.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle — from ideation to launch and iteration.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Liaise with HR leaders, recruiters, and tech teams to gather requirements and validate product decisions.
  • Present product updates, demos, and performance metrics to executive stakeholders.
  • User Experience & Innovation

  • Champion intuitive UX/UI design principles tailored to recruitment workflows.
  • Integrate AI/ML, automation, and analytics to modernize candidate sourcing, screening, and onboarding.
  • Compliance & Integration

  • Ensure product features comply with data privacy regulations (GDPR, EEOC, etc.).
  • Oversee integrations with third-party platforms (job boards, HRIS, CRM, etc.).


Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in

    building or enhancing recruitment software

    , RMS, or ATS platforms.
  • Proven track record of

    leading product development

    in B2B SaaS environments.
  • Strong understanding of

    recruitment lifecycle

    , HR tech trends, and user personas.
  • Experience with

    agile methodologies

    , product analytics, and backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with

    API ecosystems

    , cloud platforms, and data security best practices.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior consulting experience with HR tech firms or enterprise recruitment platforms.
  • Exposure to

    AI-driven recruitment tools

    , chatbots, or candidate matching algorithms.
  • Experience working with global teams and multi-region compliance requirements.
