Job Description THE ROLE At Bombay Sweet Shop, we’re building a robust and efficient supply chain to ensure that our handmade, perishable products reach our customers on time, every time. We’re looking for a Procurement Manager who will play a key role in sourcing the finest ingredients, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that every product is delivered in line with our quality standards. This isn’t just about purchasing—it’s about leading with discipline, enforcing effective procurement processes, optimising the sourcing of high quality ingredients, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. As Procurement Manager, you will report to the Director of Operations, collaborating closely with other departments to ensure a seamless supply of ingredients and materials across our locations. What You’ll Do Supplier Management: Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, ensuring high-quality ingredients and on-time deliveries. Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet product quality standards while optimizing costs. Negotiation & Contracts: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms. Review and manage contracts to ensure compliance and favorable terms for the business. Inventory & Stock Management: Track ingredient levels across all locations, ensuring proper storage, timely reorders, and minimizing waste or shortages. Food Safety & Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with food safety regulations, FSSAI standards, and other relevant guidelines. Maintain audit-ready documentation and records. Cost Control & Reporting: Monitor procurement expenses, track stock levels, reduce waste, and optimize purchasing strategies to stay within budget. Festive & Peak Planning: Prepare for peak seasons by ensuring that ingredients, suppliers, and logistics are aligned to fulfill increased demand. Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with the kitchen, operations, and other teams to understand evolving product needs and streamline sourcing. Who You Are Experience: 5-7 years of proven experience in procurement, preferably within food or FMCG industries. Procurement Expertise: Strong knowledge of sourcing, supplier management, and cost-effective procurement strategies. Food Safety Knowledge: A deep understanding of food safety regulations and compliance. Inventory Management Skills: Ability to manage large volumes of stock, minimize losses, and optimize procurement costs. Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and other relevant tools.
