Role Objective

To manage end-to-end procurement and vendor development for e-cycle motor components, ensuring cost competitiveness, quality consistency, and on-time availability, while working closely with engineering and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Sourcing

• Manage sourcing of motor components such as:
• Shafts, housings, covers
• Bearings, magnets, laminations
• Machined, cast, stamped & bought-out parts
• Develop and maintain approved vendor list
• Identify alternate suppliers to reduce risk and cost

2. Vendor Development & Management

• Lead new vendor identification, evaluation, and onboarding
• Coordinate sample development, trials, and approvals
• Conduct vendor audits for quality, capacity, and process capability
• Drive continuous improvement at supplier end

3. Costing & Negotiation

• Prepare should-cost models (RM, machining, processing, tooling)
• Negotiate pricing, tooling cost, payment terms & lead times
• Track and drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality
• Handle annual price revisions and market volatility (RM & forex)

4. Quality & Engineering Coordination

• Work closely with Mechanical / Design Engineers on:
• Drawing understanding
• Tolerance impact on cost and manufacturability
• Support PPAP / sample approval / corrective actions
• Address supplier quality issues and ensure closure

5. Planning & Inventory Control

• Ensure on-time material availability to meet production plans
• Manage MOQ vs inventory optimization
• Track lead times, expedite critical parts when required
• Maintain accurate procurement records and MIS

6. Systems & Documentation

• Maintain BOM cost tracking
• Use ERP / Excel / Google Sheets for:
• PO management
• Cost analysis
• Vendor performance tracking
• Ensure proper documentation for audits and reviews

Required Qualifications

• Diploma / BE / BTech – Mechanical Engineering
• Additional qualification in Supply Chain / Procurement is a plus

Experience Requirements

• 3-5 years in procurement / supply chain
• Experience in automotive, EV, motor, or precision manufacturing
• Hands-on exposure to machining, casting, stamping, bearings, magnets
