We are looking for an experienced Production Engineer with a strong background in motor manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing assembly processes, resolving production issues, driving improvements in product quality, and supporting continuous scaling of production volumes.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily production activities related to motor manufacturing, ensuring smooth workflow and minimal downtime.

- Analyse assembly-related issues, identify root causes, and provide effective corrective actions and improvement suggestions.

- Implement product quality improvements by studying failure patterns, monitoring production cycles, and optimising processes.

- Evaluate existing production methods and introduce engineering solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce defects, and improve consistency.

- Work closely with design, R&D, and quality teams to address product or process deviations.

- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and assembly guidelines.

- Manage production line layout, tooling requirements, and resource planning to support increased production demand.

- Conduct training for operators and assembly teams to ensure proper process adherence.

- Monitor and report key production KPIs such as yield, cycle time, rejection rate, and productivity.

- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized production environment.

- Support new model introduction (NPI) by validating assembly processes and ensuring manufacturability.

- Coordinate with vendors for tooling, fixtures, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree/DME in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in motor manufacturing (BLDC, induction motors, or similar).

- Strong understanding of assembly processes, motor components, and quality control methods.

- Proven problem-solving abilities using root cause analysis tools (8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, etc.).

- Working knowledge of production quality methodologies such as Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma (preferred).

- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, BOMs, and process flow diagrams.

- Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on improving throughput and reducing defects.

Key Attributes

- Experience in setting up or scaling motor assembly lines.

- Knowledge of automation, jigs, fixtures, and testing equipment used in motor production.

- Hands-on approach and ability to work closely with operators on the shop floor.

- Familiarity with ERP or production tracking systems.
