Job Summary

The Packaging Machine (flow pack, fillers, Nitrogen filled VFFS, HFFS, Vacuumed Sealer Machine etc) and Laminate Engineer is responsible for selecting and defining proper packing material as per food and machine requirements and implementing innovative and functional food packaging solutions, with a strong focus on laminate materials and the machinery that processes them. This role ensures product safety, quality, and shelf life while optimizing productivity and manufacturing efficiency. The engineer serves as a subject matter expert for packing machine and related equipment within the manufacturing facility. 

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development:

• Select appropriate laminate materials, dimension-length width, ey mark dimension, colour pattern etc.  to meet specific product requirements and machine performance optimization, print suitability etc.

• Machinery & Operations:

• Technical expertise and support for the installation, commissioning, and optimization of packaging machinery.
• Strong Handson knowledge of packing machinery operation and maintenance activity, PM scheduling, execution, data report maintaining etc.
• Conduct line trials to ensure packaging laminate performance and compatibility with manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Troubleshoot process deviations, cosmetic defects, and mechanical variations related to lamination and packing lines.

• Quality & Compliance:

• Develop and execute all reports for trials, feedbacks reports for new machine and packing laminates and its trials.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for packaging related issues.
• Conduct thorough testing and analysis (e.g., durability, seal integrity) to assess packaging material performance.
• Modify Machinery if needed as per GMP.

• Collaboration & Improvement:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, QA, Design, Procurement, and Production to ensure alignment on packaging requirements and better machine performance.
• Work closely with external suppliers and vendors to develop future new requirements for packaging and stay abreast of new technologies.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize material scrap. 
• Handle team of 10-15 technician’s maintenance team.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Education:

   BE in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.

• Experience:

   7 - 8 years of experience in packaging machinery, preferably within the food manufacturing or FMCG industry.

• Technical Skills:

• Strong and Handson knowledge of packaging machinery technology, materials especially laminates and flexible packaging films.
• Handson with packing machine operating and maintenance with packaging machinery and manufacturing processes, including filling and sealing lines.
• Proficiency in computer-MS office and other.
• TPM implementation

• Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
