Job Location – Pune

Responsibilities:
- Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) analysis to optimize product design and reduce costs.
- Identify and assess product risks through RCA & FMEA.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Create detailed product designs using CAD tools (CREO) including assembly, drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Perform manual calculations and leverage strength of materials knowledge for design support.
- Manage product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, including obsolescence and issue resolution.
- Effectively address customer complaints and production challenges.
- Conduct First Article Inspections and required measurements.
- Collaborate with suppliers and procurement to complete prototypes and qualifications.
- Ensure product reliability, serviceability, and compliance with requirements.
- Manage cross-functional teams across different locations to achieve project goals.
- Plan, track, and coordinate project activities in alignment with Quality Management System (QMS) and Product Realization Process (PRP).
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Create and maintain Design and Manufacturing Records (DMR/DHF).
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in CREO Simulation as needed & Have Knowledge of Fluid Dynamic Analysis.
- Ensure business continuity and revenue generation.
- Contribute to cost reduction initiatives & Innovation Ideas.
Qualification
- Completed engineering studies at university level; BE/BTech/ME/M-Tech in Mechanical
- 5-12 or more years of experience in Product design and RCA tools for Medical Devices / Home Appliances / Personal Health (Power Irrigator/Whitening Product/Power Toothbrush)
- Strong understanding of physics and hand calculation of the mechanical components for deciding strength, stiffness etc.
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
- Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiar with the use of Product Data Management (PDM) systems
- Hands on experience on Creo / Solid-works CAD Tools.
- Responsible for implementing design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) strategies to minimize production costs.
- Create a DFMEA to determine potential product failures and their associated risks.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy through GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
- Proven design engineering and project management experience leading cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Design Skills: Proficiency in structural design and CAD for creating 3D models and manufacturing drawings and design for molding. Experience in FEA/CFD analysis is preferred.
- Windchill PDM / PLM for managing lifecycle of the components.
- Disciplined team worker, ability to work independently with timely guidance.
- Result oriented team player.
- Excellent communication skills and Positive ‘can do’ attitude.
