Job Purpose
To serve as a core contributor within Nayara Energy’s Pricing team, responsible for the accurate analysis, execution, and strategic support of pricing decisions across retail and bulk petroleum product sales. With the company’s expansion to 10,000 retail outlets and increased participation in bulk tenders, this role is critical in monitoring daily crude and product price movements, assessing market trends, and integrating tax, duty, and freight variables into pricing models. The Pricing Manager ensures precise daily pricing for retail outlets, margin analysis at Letter of Allotment (LOA) stage, and fortnightly calculation of Refinery Transfer Prices (RTPs) for bulk and PSU sales. The role also supports dynamic pricing initiatives, contributes to rolling plans and long-term business strategies, and provides insights to optimize supply location margins. Additionally, the position is expected to continuously review and enhance pricing models and methodologies to improve commercial outcomes and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Price Trend Analysis and Dashboard Updates
- Update daily international price movements from key publications.
- Derive Refinery Transfer Prices (RTPs) and reflect expected domestic price changes in management dashboards.
Retail Selling Price (RSP) Finalization
- Finalize daily RSPs for allocated zones based on competitor pricing and marketing inputs.
- Conduct margin analysis for new retail outlets at LOA stage.
- Update RSPs based on RTKMs, taxation, and freight changes.
- Share MIS insights with management to support pricing strategy decisions.
Bulk Pricing and PSU Sales Execution
- Finalize fortnightly and monthly prices for bulk products and PSU sales.
- Ensure pricing aligns with contracts, tenders, and discount policies.
- Update selling prices based on tax changes and support B2B proposals.
SAP Price Updates and Circular Communication
- Upload prices in SAP and conduct accuracy checks.
- Communicate finalized prices to zones and divisional offices via pricing circulars.
RSP Reconciliation and Field Feedback Analysis
- Perform monthly reconciliation of RSPs with field inputs for allocated zones.
- Analyze discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed.
SAP Configuration and Pricing Mechanism Mapping
- Configure new pricing structures and tax mechanisms in SAP systems.
- Ensure accuracy and process integrity during system updates.
Strategic Pricing Inputs for Planning
- Provide rolling plan inputs and collaborate with EPS and IST teams.
- Analyze futures, market variables, and policy shifts for scenario planning.
Internal Transfer Pricing for Own Consumption
- Support internal material transfers between Marketing and Refinery.
- Ensure accurate determination of internal transfer prices.
Pricing Presentations and Knowledge Sharing
- Prepare presentations for external conferences, inductions, and management reviews.
- Highlight key pricing trends and revenue impact scenarios.
Audit and Discrepancy Resolution
- Address pricing discrepancies and audit observations in coordination with stakeholders.
- Ensure timely closure and documentation of audit responses.
Supply Location Feasibility Studies
- Conduct margin analysis and rank supply locations based on tax, freight, and asset presence.
- Recommend optimal supply points for retail and bulk operations.
Gross Margin Reporting and Management Insights
- Continuously report margin trends across retail and bulk channels.
- Provide actionable insights to top management on margin drivers and fluctuations.
Qualifications
Knowledge
Educational Qualifications & Certifications:
- Post-Graduate / Graduate with commercial and financial acumen.
Relevant (Functional/Level) & Total Years of Experience
:
- Candidate should have at-least 5-7 or more years of relevant experience.
