Job Summary
The Technical Lead (Campus Lead) will manage all aspects of facility, contract, and procurement operations for technical services at the client’s data centre campus. This role ensures operational excellence, compliance, and 100% uptime across MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) assets. The incumbent will lead engineering processes, ensure statutory compliance, oversee vendor management, manage budgets, and act as the primary technical liaison for both internal and external stakeholders.Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a facility management program, including preventative and life-cycle maintenance requirements.
- Plan, schedule, and execute 52-week preventive maintenance for all MEP assets, ensuring minimum downtime.
- Supervise maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment; oversee facility refurbishments and renovations.
- Conduct and document regular facility inspections, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and industry codes.
- Oversee facility central services such as reception, security, cleaning, catering, waste disposal, and parking.
- Ensure all facility operations adhere to local and national statutory requirements, and submit relevant statutory returns on time.
- Allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency; coordinate intra-office moves.
- Implement and review best-practice facility management processes to drive operational efficiency.
- Lead engineering and data centre operations, attending relevant meetings and driving improvement initiatives.
- Manage and review service contracts, contractors, and vendors to ensure SLAs are met; maintain vendor and contractor relationships.
- Oversee procurement, including obtaining quotes, negotiating contracts, verifying invoices, and managing expenditures to deliver cost optimization.
- Prepare, track, and present facility budgets, financial reports, contracts, expenditures, and purchases.
- Monitor and manage expenses, identify and implement cost reduction initiatives.
- Recruit, manage, develop, and train facility maintenance staff; allocate and monitor staffing levels.
- Ensure environmental, health, and safety standards, including energy efficiency and sustainability best practices.
- Respond promptly to facility and equipment alarms, system failures, and occupant requests to support business continuity.
- Assure security and prompt resolution of facility-related issues.
- Maintain effective communication with technical teams, management, and external stakeholders.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech/BE) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering from a reputed institute or equivalent with relevant experience.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in facility or data centre operations.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience in: Operation and maintenance of large physical infrastructure/data centre components. Management of civil, electrical, HVAC, LAN, safety, and security systems in a large-scale environment. Operation and upkeep of integrated Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Strong verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
