We are a leading manufacturer of high-quality magnetic components, producing millions of transformers and inductors for critical industries like metering, medical, and defence. Our state-of-the-art facility in Mysuru is built on a foundation of quality, precision, and innovation. We are looking for a skilled and proactive Automation Maintenance Engineers to ensure the seamless operation of our sophisticated automated manufacturing and testing lines.


Your Role and Impact

Leading the Automation Team at Excel-Par Electronics, you will be the technical cornerstone for our advanced production machinery. You will manage a team of Automation Engineers maintaining the intricate, high-speed automated systems that are the backbone of our manufacturing capability. The team's primary mission is to maximise machine uptime, enhance operational efficiency, and drive the continuous improvement of our automated processes, directly impacting our ability to deliver quality components daily.


What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of automation engineers and technicians.
  • Define clear roles and responsibilities, set strategic goals, and manage team performance to foster a culture of accountability and continuous technical growth.
  • Promote a world-class safety culture, ensuring strict adherence to all safety procedures.


Operational & Maintenance Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance strategy for all automated production machinery, including our extensive lines of automatic toroidal winders, CNC-controlled linear winders, and robotic soldering systems.
  • Implement and oversee robust Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Utilize a CMMS for maintenance planning, scheduling, and spare parts inventory management.
  • Own and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) such as MTTR, MTBF, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).


Technical & Project Management:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on advanced automation systems, including PLCs (Siemens, Mitsubishi), SCADA, robotics, servo drives, and machine vision.
  • Lead complex troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis (RCA) for critical equipment failures, implementing effective long-term solutions.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of automation projects, including upgrades and new installations, from budget and timeline management to vendor coordination and successful commissioning.


Continuous Improvement & Digitalization:

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies like 5S and Kaizen.
  • Lead the integration of Industry 4.0 and smart maintenance tools for real-time monitoring and predictive diagnostics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, and Engineering) to align maintenance activities with broader business objectives and drive process optimization.


Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce all safety standards and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure all automation equipment and processes are compliant with industry standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E, ISO 13849) and are prepared for internal and external audits.


What You'll Bring: Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Experience:

    7 to 10 years of progressive experience in automation maintenance within a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 2 to 3 years in a proven leadership or managerial role.
  • Managerial Skills:

    Demonstrated ability in team leadership, project management, and budget coordination.


Technical Expertise:

  • Deep knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens, Xinje, Mitsubishi), HMI/SCADA, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with servo drives, VFDs, robotics, and safety circuits.
  • Preferred Certifications: CMRP/CMRT, PMP, PLC Programming Certification, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and safety certifications like OSHA or NFPA 70E.
