Logistics Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to lead and manage end-to-end logistics operations, including foreign trade, transportation, customer service, and Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE). The role is responsible for ensuring compliant, cost-effective, and efficient logistics operations while meeting customer service and delivery commitments.

Responsibilities

Logistics & Operations Management

• Lead and manage import and export operations in compliance with Indian customs, tax, and regulatory requirements
• Oversee inbound and outbound transportation, domestic and international logistics flows
• Ensure timely execution of customer orders, distribution, and deliveries
• Monitor short-term demand and supply alignment through S&OE, taking corrective actions to avoid service or inventory risks
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, suppliers, and internal stakeholders

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead teams handling foreign trade, transport, customer service, and S&OE
• Motivate, guide, and evaluate team performance through regular feedback
• Identify skill gaps and ensure training and development plans for team members
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance, and customer-focused work culture

Performance & Continuous Improvement

• Define, track, and analyse KPIs related to cost, service, delivery, and inventory
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce logistics costs, and improve service reliability
• Implement and sustain operational excellence methodologies (5S, autonomous maintenance, quality and safety practices)

• Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate with sales, production, procurement, and planning teams to align capacity, inventory, cost, and service levels
• Balance customer expectations with operational feasibility and contribution margins

• Systems, Compliance & Safety

• Ensure effective use of ERP systems (SAP) and related logistics tools
• Maintain complete documentation and reporting accuracy
• Ensure logistics operations follow established safety management systems and statutory requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Administration, or Foreign Trade
• Preferred: MBA in Logistics / Supply Chain Management

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations
• Hands-on experience in import/export, customs clearance, and foreign trade regulations (India)
• Expertise in transportation management, inventory control, and order management
• Strong negotiation skills with transporters, suppliers, and service providers
• Experience with SAP / ERP systems, data analytics, and reporting tools
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in English

Preferred Skills

• Experience in logistics management in a similar industry
• Knowledge of advanced logistics technologies and trends
