Job Summary
The Asst / Manager - Lighting Design is a pivotal role within GM Modular, responsible for creating and delivering cutting-edge lighting design solutions. This position involves working closely with the sales team and clients, overseeing the entire project lifecycle from concept development through to final implementation. The role demands a blend of technical expertise, creative vision, and strong project management skills, ensuring all designs meet customer specifications, site requirements, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lighting Design and Project Execution:
- Concept Development: Lead the initial conceptualization of lighting projects, ensuring innovative and functional design solutions.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical specifications, including layout plans, lighting calculations, and fixture specifications.
- Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Liaise with vendors and suppliers to procure high-quality lighting products and materials, ensuring they meet project specifications.
- Cost and Budget Management: Develop accurate cost estimates and manage project budgets effectively, maintaining financial discipline.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, energy regulations, and safety standards.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control processes, including site inspections and testing, to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Timeline Management: Create and maintain detailed project timelines, ensuring timely completion of all project phases.
- Operational Support, MIS & Reviews:
- Project Reporting: Generate and present detailed reports on project progress, including status updates, budget tracking, and issue resolution.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain open lines of communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams, providing regular updates and soliciting feedback.
- Post-Project Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations upon project completion to assess outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
- Technical Training and Development: Offer training and mentorship to junior team members, enhancing their skills and expertise in lighting design.
- Innovation and Best Practices: Stay current with industry trends and innovations, integrating best practices and new technologies into projects.
- Team and Resource Management:
- Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of lighting designers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Resource Allocation: Strategically allocate resources to optimize talent and material use across various projects.
- Performance Management: Set clear performance goals for team members and conduct regular reviews to ensure high standards are consistently met.
- Required:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in lighting design and project execution.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of lighting principles, design techniques, and safety regulations. Proficiency in lighting design software and tools is essential.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
