Role Overview The Key Account Manager – Coated Steel will be responsible for managing and growing strategic customer relationships across industries such as construction, infrastructure, appliances, automotive, and pre-engineered buildings (PEBs). The role involves driving sales growth, delivering tailored solutions, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction while contributing to AM/NS India’s coated steel market leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Key Account Management Develop and execute strategic account plans for assigned key customers.
Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, fostering strong and long-term relationships.
Gain deep understanding of customers’ business models, challenges, and evolving requirements to position coated steel solutions effectively.
Conduct regular business reviews to assess performance, identify improvement areas, and explore growth opportunities.
Sales & Business Development Achieve and exceed sales volume and revenue targets for coated steel products.
Drive business growth within existing accounts and identify potential new key accounts.
Collaborate with technical and production teams to deliver customized solutions.
Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and quotations.
Lead negotiations on contracts, pricing, and terms to close profitable deals.
Market Intelligence & Strategy Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
Share insights on customer needs and market dynamics with internal teams for product and strategy alignment.
Contribute to overall coated product sales strategy.
Customer Relationship Management Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and service.
Address and resolve customer feedback and complaints by coordinating with internal teams.
Build a strong network within the industry and represent the company at industry events.
Reporting & Analysis
Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipelines, and account data.
Generate regular reports on sales performance, account status, and market insights.
Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Business / Metallurgy or related field (MBA preferred).
8–12 years of experience in key account management, sales, or business development within the steel / metals / coated products / building materials industry.
Proven experience handling large/strategic accounts with measurable sales achievements.
Strong knowledge of coated steel products, applications, and industry practices.
Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally with technical, production, and commercial teams.
