This creates new opportunities for driven and skilled individuals to join one of the fastest-growing consultancies globally.We are seeking an IT Operations Engineer with 0-2 years’ experience to monitor, maintain, and support IT infrastructure and systems across the business.The Operations Engineer supports IT operations by monitoring systems and infrastructure for performance and availability, performing routine maintenance tasks such as backups and patching, and troubleshooting user issues. The role also involves automating repetitive tasks using scripting tools and escalating complex problems when necessary.Ideal candidates will have familiarity with Windows and Linux environments, and knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash. Experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Freshservice and basic networking concepts is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn are essential.Key responsibilities
Requirements
- Infrastructure Monitoring & Maintenance
- Monitor and maintain servers, storage, networks, and cloud platforms (Windows, Linux, AWS, Azure, OCI).
- Perform regular system health checks, backups, patching, and updates.
- Ensure compliance with security and operational policies.
- Incident & Problem Management
- Respond to infrastructure alerts and incidents, providing timely resolution.
- Perform root cause analysis and document incident reports.
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or global teams where necessary.
- Service Reliability & Uptime
- Contribute to maintaining 24x7 availability of critical systems.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support high-priority incidents.
- Work with monitoring and automation tools to improve service reliability.
- Automation & Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational tasks (scripts, runbooks, orchestration tools).
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce manual workloads.
- Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with Infrastructure Leads, Project Managers, and Service Desk teams to support service delivery.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions.
- Support cross-team knowledge sharing and mentoring of junior engineers
Qualifications
- 0-2 years’ experience in IT infrastructure operations or system administration.
- Hands-on experience with Windows and/or Linux server administration.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI) and hybrid infrastructure would be advantageous.
- An understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls) would be advantageous.
- Experience in incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Nagios, ITRS, SolarWinds).
- Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks such as patching, upgrades, and backups.
- Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible) for operational efficiency.
- Strong documentation and communication skills, able to collaborate with global teams.
Certifications (advantageous)
- ITIL Foundation Certification to demonstrate understanding of IT service management best practices.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or similar Microsoft role-based certification.
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Linux Professional Institute (LPIC-1/2).
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) for virtualization knowledge.
- CompTIA certifications (e.g., Network+, Security+).
