Job Description

The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing end-to-end HR operations at the plant level, including recruitment, onboarding, attendance & payroll coordination, statutory compliance, employee relations, and HR administration. The role requires hands-on experience in a manufacturing or factory setup with strong knowledge of labor laws and workforce management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for plant-level roles including skilled workers, unskilled labor, supervisors, and staff
  • Coordinate with local employment agencies, ITIs, and manpower vendors to build a steady talent pipeline
  • Conduct employee induction programs and ensure smooth onboarding and documentation
  • Maintain recruitment trackers and hiring MIS

2. Attendance & Payroll Coordination

  • Monitor daily attendance, shift schedules, overtime, and leave records
  • Coordinate with payroll team/vendor to ensure accurate and timely salary processing
  • Manage time office functions and biometric systems
  • Ensure compliance with wage calculations, overtime, and statutory deductions

3. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee queries, grievances, and shop-floor issues
  • Facilitate employee engagement initiatives, welfare programs, and internal communication
  • Support disciplinary procedures and conflict resolution
  • Promote a positive, compliant, and productive work culture

4. Statutory Compliance & Legal

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and factory regulations including

    ESI, PF, Minimum Wages, Bonus, Gratuity, CLRA, Factories Act

  • Maintain statutory registers, records, and returns
  • Coordinate with external consultants and government authorities
  • Support labor inspections, audits, and certifications (Labor, EHS, ISO)

5. Training & Development

  • Identify training needs in coordination with department heads
  • Schedule and track skill development, safety, and compliance training
  • Maintain training attendance and effectiveness records

6. HR Administration & MIS

  • Maintain accurate employee records (physical files and HRIS)
  • Assist in implementation of HR policies, SOPs, and documentation
  • Prepare HR reports and MIS on manpower, attendance, attrition, and compliance

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in

    Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in an

    HR Generalist / Plant HR role

    , preferably in manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, payroll processes, and statutory compliance
  • Proficient in

    MS Office (Excel, Word)

    and HRIS systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Fluency in

    Kannada

    and working knowledge of

    English/Hindi
