Role Summary: The Head of Design will lead the UI/UX department and be responsible for all design and research initiatives within the airline company. This role will oversee the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of user experiences across the company's digital platforms, including websites, mobile applications, and other customer-facing interfaces. The Head of Design will act as the custodian of design quality and ensure all digital experiences align with the company’s brand and strategic vision. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy: • Define and execute the design vision, strategy, and roadmap for the airline’s digital platforms. • Lead and mentor a team of designers and researchers to deliver user-centered solutions. • Advocate for design excellence across the organization, ensuring a consistent and cohesive user experience. Design & Execution: • Oversee the design process for all digital products, ensuring usability, functionality, and visual appeal. • Collaborate with product, development, and marketing teams to deliver high-quality design solutions on time. • Drive the creation and maintenance of a unified design system and brand guidelines. Research & Insights: • Lead user research efforts to gather insights on customer needs, behaviors, and pain points. • Ensure research findings are translated into actionable design recommendations. • Stay informed about industry trends, customer feedback, and competitor analysis to guide design decisions. Enhancements & Coordination: • Supervise enhancements and modifications to existing digital applications, ensuring they align with customer expectations and business objectives. • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for smooth implementation of design projects. • Ensure accessibility and compliance standards (e.g., WCAG) are met across all platforms. Performance Monitoring: • Track and measure the impact of design initiatives on user satisfaction, engagement, and business KPIs. • Continuously identify opportunities for improvement through audits and user feedback. Required Skills and Qualifications: Technical Skills: • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools. • Deep understanding of design systems, responsive design, and mobile-first principles. • Expertise in usability testing, accessibility standards (WCAG), and design documentation. Leadership Skills: • Proven experience in leading and mentoring design teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders. Experience: • Minimum 15 years of experience in UI/UX design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. • Demonstrated success in designing and delivering large-scale digital products. • Experience working in industries with complex customer journeys (e.g., aviation, travel, or e-commerce). Education: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Computer Science. • Candidates from a Tier 1 design institute shall be preferred.
