Job Title: Geologist – Cement Industry Department: Raw Material & Mining Operations Location: As per business requirements (Pan India) Reports To: Head – Mining / Raw Material Head About the Role: The Geologist will be responsible for the end-to-end geological assessment and resource management to support raw material sourcing for cement manufacturing. The role involves conducting surveys, analyzing data, and ensuring environmentally sustainable mining practices. This position plays a critical role in long-term resource planning and operational efficiency. Purpose of the Role: Responsible for conducting geological surveys, analyzing geological data, and providing valuable insights to optimize resource utilization, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability. Key Accountabilities & Deliverables: Conduct geological surveys to identify and evaluate potential raw material sources like limestone, laterite, and other minerals used in cement production. Analyze geological data using advanced geological mapping and modeling software to determine material quality, reserves, and viability. Provide critical geological insights to support mine planning, extraction strategies, and long-term resource management. Collaborate with mining, production, environmental, and project teams to create sustainable extraction and processing plans. Ensure compliance with DGMS, MoEF, and local environmental regulations, promoting sustainable mining practices. Develop and contribute to reclamation and mine closure plans to reduce environmental impact. Support business planning with accurate resource estimations, geological modeling, and risk assessments. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to geological exploration, material optimization, and process efficiency. Document and report geological findings for internal use and external regulatory bodies. Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Geology (Mandatory) Certifications in Mining Geology, GIS, or Remote Sensing are an added advantage. Experience:3–8 years of experience in geological exploration, raw material sourcing, or mining operations, preferably in the cement or mineral extraction industry. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in geological survey techniques, mapping, sampling, and data interpretation. Skilled in using geological mapping and modeling tools such as Surpac, Minex, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or similar software. Understanding of cement raw material characteristics, quality parameters, and grade control. Knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainable mining practices, and compliance standards. Familiarity with GPS-based survey tools and GIS applications for accurate field mapping. Behavioral Skills: Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills for data-driven decisions.
