About Us
We are looking for an experienced Event Manager to join our growing team. This is a remote position, based in Mumbai, India.As an Event Manager at Southern Star, you’ll be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of conferences, scientific meetings, and partnering events—ensuring our presence in the industry is strategic, engaging, and aligned with commercial objectives.Working closely with our Head of Marketing, you will ensure consistent promotion, lead generation, and post event measurement, all while maintaining a high standard of operational excellence. This role is hands-on, strategic, and suited to someone who thrives in a fast paced scientific/technical environment.
Reporting To The Head Of Marketing, Responsibilities Will Include
Strategy, Planning and Calendar Oversight:
- Own the annual events roadmap, including scientific conferences, industry partnering events, webinars, symposiums, and sponsorship opportunities.
- Evaluate event relevance, audience fit, and ROI potential in alignment with commercial goals.
- Work with leadership and BD teams to define event themes, objectives, and messaging.
End-to-End Event Management
- Manage all event logistics including registrations, travel, booth/stand design, collateral production, and onsite support.
- Oversee vendor sourcing, budget management, contract negotiation, and production requirements (AV, staging, signage, etc.)
- Coordinate partner meetings, scheduling of introductions, and onsite BD appointment management.
- Execute both in person and virtual event formats with precision.
Collaboration with the Digital Marketing Manager
- Develop integrated promotional campaigns for each event, including LinkedIn, email campaigns, website updates, and paid digital when applicable.
- Ensure event pages on the website are accurate, timely, and optimised for engagement.
- Supply the Digital Marketing Manager with necessary content—speaker details, agendas, visuals, booth information, and post event highlights.
Lead Generation, Measurement and ROI tracking
- Strategize and track event generated opportunities, warm leads, partner meetings, and BD follow-ups
- Measure sponsorship ROI, booth engagement, attendee traffic, and campaign performance
- Provide structured reports on outcomes, insights, and recommendations to strengthen future activity
- Maintain strong alignment with BD to ensure events contribute meaningfully to pipeline growth
To be successful in the role, we're looking for candidates with:
- A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or business
- A minimum of 4 years of event management, including at least 2 within a CRO environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex conference and partnering events from strategy through to logistics
- Strong organisational and project management skills with impeccable attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with webinar platforms, CRM systems, and event management tools
