Job Summary
We are looking for a
Credit Underwriter
with
1–2 years of experience in business loan/SME loan underwriting
. This role is central to maintaining the right balance between growth and risk by conducting in-depth credit evaluations, preparing credit notes, and tracking portfolio performance. You will also play a critical role in building strong credit practices and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Where You Can Create Impact
Credit Evaluation & Underwriting
- Assess applicant creditworthiness using financial statements, GST returns, bureau reports, and banking data.
- Prepare detailed Credit Appraisal Memos (CAMs) with comprehensive risk assessment and recommendations.
- Ensure adherence to internal credit policies and regulatory frameworks.
MIS & Portfolio Management
- Maintain MIS reports on applications, sanctions, disbursements, and rejections.
- Track portfolio quality, monitor delinquency trends, and highlight early warning signals.
- Support monitoring of NPAs, OTS (one-time settlements), and collection-linked performance.
- Provide insights and reports to management for portfolio decision-making.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with sourcing, operations, and collections teams for seamless decision-making.
- Share feedback with sourcing partners to improve application quality.
- Coordinate with auditors and compliance for timely data submissions.
Requirements For The Role
- Graduate/Post-Graduate in Commerce, Finance, or related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in business loan or SME loan underwriting.
- Strong expertise in financial analysis, ratio analysis, and risk assessment.
- Sound knowledge of credit bureau reports and industry risk dynamics.
- Proficiency in MS Excel with strong MIS/reporting skills.
- Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with the ability to work under deadlines.
