Credit Underwriter

You will be joining MyShubhLife, India's largest embedded finance platform that has been providing affordable credit to millions since 2006. With a strategic focus on robust technology, deep data science, contextual products, and RBI compliance, we collaborate with various companies to offer credit facilities and contribute to India's growth story. As a Credit Underwriter based in Bengaluru on a full-time basis, your primary responsibility will involve analyzing and evaluating credit applications. Leveraging your strong analytical skills and effective communication, you will determine loan eligibility criteria and develop strategies to mitigate associated risks. Your key responsibilities will include assessing loan applications for unsecured business loans and LAP, conducting manual underwriting and personal discussions (PDs) to evaluate business viability, managing and mentoring CPAs and Junior Underwriters, analyzing financial documents, bank statements, and GST returns to ascertain creditworthiness, evaluating geographical delinquency trends and industry-specific risks across India, underwriting e-commerce sellers as an additional advantage, and ensuring adherence to credit policies and risk frameworks. Additionally, you will be expected to provide regular feedback to enhance credit policies and underwriting processes. To excel in this role, you should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in unsecured business loans or working capital underwriting, a sound understanding of Indian businesses, credit behaviors, and risk assessment, proficiency in manual underwriting and personal discussions (PDs), experience in team management would be beneficial, an analytical mindset with expertise in MS Excel/Google Sheets and financial tools, strong communication and decision-making skills, extreme ownership, diligence, eagerness to learn and adapt to market trends, and preferably experience in underwriting e-commerce sellers. Additionally, holding a Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA (Finance), or relevant credit/risk certifications would be advantageous.,
