As the CFO, you will be a core member of the leadership team, responsible for steering financial strategy, compliance, fundraising, and operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with the CEO, board, and investors to fuel scalable growth while ensuring robust governance, controls, and financial discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Design and drive the financial strategy aligned with business expansion and long-term growth goals.
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting cycles with a focus on accuracy and agility.
- Conduct profitability analysis, unit economics, and pricing strategies tailored to B2C, B2B, and SaaS models in EdTech.
Fundraising & Investor Relations
- Spearhead fundraising initiatives (equity, debt, and venture capital) and nurture strong investor relationships.
- Develop due diligence reports, financial models, and pitch decks for ongoing and future funding rounds.
- Ensure transparent, timely investor communication through board presentations, MIS, and performance dashboards.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Oversee statutory compliance including GST, Income Tax, FEMA, ROC, and related regulatory frameworks.
- Establish and monitor internal controls (IFC/ICFR) and enterprise risk management practices.
- Coordinate with auditors, regulators, and legal advisors for audits, filings, and compliance activities.
Treasury & Working Capital Management
- Manage treasury operations, working capital cycles, and cash flows effectively.
- Optimize capital structure, ensuring liquidity to support business growth.
- Oversee receivables, vendor payments, and treasury investments with a focus on cost efficiency.
Business Partnering & Leadership
- Partner with product, marketing, and operations teams to provide data-driven insights for decision-making.
- Lead, mentor, and scale the finance, accounts, and compliance teams to meet evolving business needs.
- Drive finance automation/ERP implementation to strengthen efficiency and accuracy.
Key Requirements
- Chartered Accountant / CPA / MBA (Finance) with 12-18 years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong background in fundraising, investor relations, and financial due diligence.
- Prior exposure to startups/EdTech/consumer-tech/SaaS environments is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of FEMA, GST, Income Tax, ROC filings, and overall compliance frameworks.
- Proven expertise in financial strategy, governance, and people leadership.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
