📌 Position Overview

We are looking for a Business Development & Sales Manager with deep roots in the marine industry to drive growth and establish Navitera as the preferred partner for maritime solutions. This role requires a unique combination of maritime expertise and business acumen to identify opportunities, build relationships, and close deals with shipowners and ship managers.


👤 Ideal Candidate Profile

⚓ Preferred Background:


  • Master Mariner or Senior Deck Officer with shore-based experience
  • Professionals transitioning from sea to shore with strong industry knowledge
  • Deck-side personnel with a comprehensive understanding of ship operations
  • Strong experience in flag registration and crew documentation processes
  • Deep familiarity with maritime regulations, vessel operations, and industry challenges


🛠️ Key Responsibilities


📈 Business Development:


  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in India and the Middle East markets
  • Create and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and customer needs
  • Develop compelling proposals and presentations for potential clients
  • Represent Navitera at maritime conferences, exhibitions, and industry events


💼 Sales & Account Management:


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners and ship managers
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure
  • Negotiate commercial terms and close high-value deals
  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports


🤝 Relationship Management:


  • Leverage existing network within shipping companies and management firms
  • Establish Navitera as a trusted partner in the maritime community
  • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Provide market feedback to product development teams


🧭 Strategic Planning:


  • Develop go-to-market strategies for new products and services
  • Analyse competitor activities and market positioning
  • Identify strategic partnerships and collaboration opportunities
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and growth initiatives


🎓 Required Qualifications & Skills

✅ Essential:


  • Master Mariner qualification or equivalent senior deck officer experience (shore-based)
  • Extensive hands-on experience in flag registration procedures and documentation
  • Strong working knowledge of crew documentation, certifications, and compliance requirements
  • Minimum 5–7 years of maritime industry experience (shore-based operations)
  • Proven track record in business development or sales (maritime sector preferred)
  • Strong network with shipowners and ship managers in India and the Middle East
  • Excellent understanding of maritime operations, regulatory frameworks, and industry dynamics

  • Ability to build and maintain C-level relationships
