Job Description

Job Summary: The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and promoting the company’s contracting services. This role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills to ensure growth in the company's pipeline and achieve business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Client Acquisition and Relationship Building: Identify and target new business opportunities within the construction, real estate, and infrastructure sectors. Establish and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients, consultants, architects, and subcontractors. Prepare proposals, tenders, and presentations to secure new contracts. Meet with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs, present the company’s capabilities, and tailor services accordingly. Market Research and Competitor Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and new opportunities for business expansion. Monitor industry developments and emerging market needs to ensure the company remains competitive. Negotiation and Contract Management: Lead negotiations for new contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company. Work with the legal and contracts team to ensure that all agreements are aligned with company policies. Strategic Partnerships: Develop relationships with key stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and developers. Partner with industry organizations and participate in networking events to increase brand visibility. Project Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate with the operations and project management teams to ensure smooth transitions from business acquisition to project execution. Provide support during project delivery to maintain client satisfaction and address any concerns. Reporting and Analysis: Monitor sales targets and track the progress of ongoing projects. Prepare regular reports and present them to senior management, highlighting performance, client feedback, and potential new opportunities. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience (3+ years) in business development or sales within the general contracting or construction industry. Strong understanding of the construction industry, project lifecycles, and the competitive landscape. Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to identify new market opportunities and expand the company’s client base. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software. Knowledge of the local construction regulations, standards, and market dynamics is a plus.
