Job Description
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
  • Understands and drives Data Governance Strategy and framework. Champions as a Data capability owner for one or more key data management capabilities like Metadata, Master data and Data quality knowledge areas.
  • Partner and collaborate with the Data platform, Data Architecture and other data capability areas to define roadmap, standards, processes and framework for execution.
  • Act as enabler and collaborate with Data Domain officers to build different Data Products. e.g., Investments, Distribution and Corporate data products.
  • Act as squad leader to drive federation of new Data governance model and capabilities across data squads. Manage a team of Data Analysts & Tech analysts and develop them to continually improve data ops standards and team performance.
  • Be a steward to enterprise data governance tools – Axon, Enterprise Data Catalogue, MANTA and Informatica Data Quality. Keeps track of new product release and plans proactively to build a road map for the year.
  • Acts as a first point of contact for internal technology support teams and vendors. Bridge’s gap by clearly defining the key priority issues, product releases and feature requests time- time.
  • Partner and Work alongside data owner/ steward, data governor, system owner/ steward to provide data governance support for key projects and assist them to establish appropriate data governance maturity processes.
  • Ensuring that data governance operations, data ops related issues are reviewed, and corrective & preventive actions are taken - liaise, influence, and negotiate with staff at all levels; managing upwards and across to ensure compliance, consistency, and best practice.
  • Ensure processes and standards are built and adhered to - in day-to-day work of Data Governance and Data & Analytics objectives and vision . Analyze potential process gaps and drive improvements. Streamline process and Automate mundane work.
  • Establish and maintain a demand management queue to assist prioritization of work. Proactively plan and identify resources vs demand gaps and report timely to the management with recommendations. Reviews resources and capacity plans and build recommendation for new hiring.
  • Employ extreme attention to detail and flexibility to adapt to dynamic client environments and changing business, operations, and technology priorities
  • Develop a strong understanding of end-to-end investment management processes, the required data to support these processes, and the data issues that may impact the business on an on-going basis
  • Define goals and conduct regular reviews to assess team performance and to proactively identify any underperformance to take corrective actions.
  • Conduct Annual performance reviews, talent reviews, competencies, and development reviews to identify areas of gaps and to evaluate the performance and potential against the team KPI’s.

Work Experience / Knowledge:
  • 5+ years’ experience in Data Governance/ Data Management space. Understand the Data lifecycle management and had proven experience in managing one or more data management knowledge areas of Metadata Management, Data Quality Management, Dat Governance, Data Integration, Master data Management.
  • Experience in building data integration pipelines and worked on ETL/ ELT tools. Has working understanding of Data bases, Data Warehouse & Data Lakes. Understanding of Data fabric and Data Visualization concepts is good to have.
  • Has worked on Cloud – Data Migrations projects and has good understanding of technologies like AWS, Snowflake Data Marts. Data Analysis skills – SQL / PL SQL, Python
  • 5 + years of experience in managing data teams. Had conducted performance appraisals and build effective development plans for team.

  • Ability to communicate well with different audiences with clarity and conciseness demonstrated by well-developed written and verbal skills
  • Organizational skills necessary to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and process several streams of work simultaneously
  • Able to think critically and analytically to draw sound conclusions based on complex data to produce good quality reports
  • Able to establish credibility and rapport with multiple stakeholders
  • Good negotiation skills with the ability to lead, persuade and influence others
  • Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
  • Identify key areas of improvement. Raising any service risks and issues; then using this information to recommend and implement changes to current procedures, processes and systems to reduce risk and improve both quality and service
  • Ability to judge the significance of issues and escalate accordingly to Data Governance Managers.

License / Registration / Certification:
  • Data Management Related Certifications - DAMA, CMMI, DMM
  • Experience in Data Governance / Management Tools – Informatica- Axon/EDC/ IDQ, Collibra, IICS , Data Virtualization tools

Formal Education:
  • Graduate Degree in computer science or relevant experience in the technology
