The Opportunity: Associate Director – Fund Raising & Donor Relations


As Associate Director – Fundraising & Donor Relations, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and driving RightWalk’s resource mobilization strategy. Reporting directly to the Executive Leadership, you will be entrusted with building, nurturing, and expanding high-value relationships with foundations, corporations, and high-net-worth individuals (HNIs). Beyond securing immediate funding, your mandate will include strengthening the organization’s long-term fundraising pipeline, ensuring that RightWalk has the sustained resources to deliver impact at scale.


This is an opportunity for a senior fundraising professional to operate at the intersection of strategy and execution — translating the organization’s vision into compelling donor narratives, designing innovative fundraising models, and aligning partnerships with RightWalk’s mission of equity and inclusion. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will not only deliver ambitious fundraising targets but also serve as a key voice in influencing organizational strategy, ensuring that financial sustainability and mission alignment go hand in hand.


Key Responsibilities


1. Fundraising Strategy Development

  • Lead the design and execution of a multi-year fundraising strategy to ensure long-term financial sustainability for RWF.
  • Align fundraising goals with the organization’s strategic priorities and expansion plans.
  • Explore innovative funding models (blended finance, CSR, multi-donor platforms) to diversify income streams.
  • Regularly report to Executive Leadership and the Board on fundraising performance, risks, and opportunities.


2.Fundraising Pipeline & Resource Mobilization

  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of potential donors across foundations, corporations, HNIs, and international agencies.
  • Establish systems to track prospects, monitor progress, and ensure disciplined follow-through.
  • Drive prospect research and due diligence to identify high-value opportunities and new geographies for growth.
  • Convert qualified leads into committed partnerships through compelling pitches and tailored cultivation strategies.


3. Partnership Cultivation & Donor Engagement

  • Serve as the face of RWF in external fundraising conversations, representing the organization with gravitas and credibility.
  • Cultivate, negotiate, and close large-scale partnerships with key donors, CSR heads, and ecosystem actors.
  • Deepen relationships with existing donors through strategic stewardship, regular impact updates, and co-creation opportunities.
  • Lead donor visits, events, and campaigns to showcase impact and strengthen confidence in RWF’s work.


4. Donor Relationship Management & Stewardship

  • Oversee the development of high-quality proposals, reports, and communication materials tailored to donor priorities.
  • Ensure timely compliance with donor reporting requirements and demonstrate measurable outcomes.
  • Design donor engagement frameworks that ensure consistency, personalization, and long-term trust.
  • Strengthen the donor CRM and knowledge management systems to enhance visibility and accountability.


5. Strategic Collaboration & Organizational Leadership

  • Partner with program and policy teams to design fundable initiatives and ensure donor priorities align with on-ground realities.
  • Provide market intelligence and donor insights to inform organizational strategy.
  • Mentor and build capacity within the fundraising team, enabling them to deliver on ambitious targets.
  • Play a leadership role in external forums, representing RWF’s thought leadership on social policy and fundraising innovation.


Who Will Thrive in This Role? -

  • Bring 10+ years of fundraising experience, including 5–7 years in the development sector.
  • Hold a full-time Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Management, or Social Work (Premier B-School preferred).
  • Have strong knowledge of the social sector landscape, fundraising best practices, and donor ecosystems.
  • Excel at proposal writing, donor communication, and pitching.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and are willing to travel for donor engagements.
  • Are self-motivated, results-driven, and able to balance strategy with hands-on execution.
  • Have proficiency in MS Office Suite, Canva, Salesforce for Nonprofits (or equivalent), with attention to detail and design aesthetics.
