Position Overview: The Assistant Restaurant Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Restaurant Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. This role involves ensuring excellent service delivery, supporting staff management, and contributing to the overall success of the restaurant. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is dedicated to guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and team development. Key Responsibilities: Operational Support: Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing all aspects of daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service. Monitor the restaurant floor during service to ensure that all guests receive prompt and attentive service. Assist in managing inventory, placing orders, and controlling stock levels to meet demand while minimizing waste. Ensure that the restaurant is clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times. Guest Experience: Foster a welcoming and friendly environment for guests, addressing any inquiries or concerns with professionalism and care. Handle guest complaints and feedback, working to resolve issues promptly and to the satisfaction of the guest. Assist in implementing service standards and training staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Team Management: Support the recruitment, training, and development of front-of-house staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable and motivated. Assist in scheduling staff shifts, ensuring adequate coverage during peak times while managing labor costs. Lead by example, setting a positive tone and work ethic for the team. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to staff. Financial Management: Assist the Restaurant Manager in monitoring revenue, expenses, and labor costs, helping to meet financial targets. Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and implement action plans. Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights and recommendations to senior management. Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including food safety standards. Conduct regular inspections of the restaurant to ensure adherence to operational and safety standards. Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes, assisting in implementing necessary adjustments. Qualifications: Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within the restaurant industry, preferably in a fast-casual or health-focused setting. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on creating memorable dining experiences. Knowledge of restaurant operations, including inventory management, scheduling, and financial reporting. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
