Deconstruct is a performance-driven, science-backed skincare brand based in Bengaluru, India. We simplify skincare using transparency, data, and proven ingredients. As we expand our innovation pipeline, we are seeking a passionate, detail-oriented product development professional to drive formulation excellence and end-to-end product lifecycle execution.
We are looking for an Assistant Manager – Product Development who will work closely with brand managers, designers, supply chain, quality teams, and external partners to support new product development from ideation to launch. This role provides an opportunity to shape product strategy, drive technical execution, and contribute to market-driven innovation.
● Conduct market research to identify evolving trends, consumer needs, and competitor offerings.
● Analyse consumer and category data to support product strategy and innovation decisions.
● Support definition of product vision, positioning, and roadmap aligned with brand objectives.
● Assist in project planning — defining scope, timelines, and deliverables.
● Identify risks impacting development or timelines and support mitigation plans.
● Design product formulations aligned with business objectives and brand positioning.
● Develop stability study protocols and define product specifications and test parameters.
● Coordinate internal and external testing — stability, compatibility, performance, and claims validation.
● Engage with agencies and partners for claims development; manage cost and timeline negotiations.
● Work closely with R&D, marketing, regulatory, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to drive execution.
● Track project milestones, align dependencies, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
● Support consumer trials, sensory evaluations, and usage testing.
● Analyse feedback to identify improvement areas and guide product iterations.
● Coordinate with marketing, supply chain, packaging, and ops teams for launch readiness.
● Assist in creating product guides, technical documents, training decks, and presentation material.
● Monitor quality throughout development and manufacturing stages.
● Partner with quality and production teams to resolve deviations or performance concerns.
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cosmetics or Chemical Engineering.
● 5–6 years of experience in product development, lifecycle management, or technical formulation environments.
● Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving capabilities.
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment.
● Familiarity with Agile development practices is a plus.
