Roles & Responsibilities
Commvault SaaS CloudEndpoints Backup Roles & Responsibility :-
- Deploy and configure Commvault Endpoint client agents on Windows/Linux /macOS systems.
- Manage onboarding of new users and devices through Commvault Command Center (Metallic/Cloud).
- Configure backup policies, schedules, and retention rules for endpoint data.
- Implement best practices for endpoint data compliance in cloud SaaS environments
- Perform file-level and folder-level restore operations on end-user devices.
- Assist end-users with self-service recovery issues and data retrieval requests.
- Manage device migration restores and mass recovery during system failures or ransomware events.
- Maintain detailed logs and audit records for all recovery operations.
- Manage onboarding/offboarding workflows for new and departed employees.
- Decommission devices safely and ensure proper data archival.
- Reassign endpoint backup data to new users/devices when required.
- Resolve endpoint agent issues (indexing failure, quota exceed, sync failure, connectivity problems).
- Work with network and security teams for VPN, firewall, and cloud access issues.
- Provide RCA for recurring endpoint backup failures.
- Generate endpoint backup compliance reports, capacity usage, and SLA adherence reports.
- Provide audit trails for data recovery activities.
- Maintain documentation for endpoint backup processes, policies, and deployment guides.
- Assist end users with backup/restore queries and agent installation support.
- Provide training or communication for new features or updates.
- Drive endpoint backup awareness and compliance across the organization.
On Prem Backups:-
- Monitor daily backup jobs and ensure all backups complete successfully.
- Address backup failures, warnings, and retry jobs as needed.
- Perform file-level, application-level, and VM-level restores.
- Maintain backup schedules, policies, and retention configurations
- Manage backup servers, media servers, storage devices, and cloud repositories.
- Configure and maintain backup agents and clients across servers and applications.
- Plan for capacity, performance tuning, and storage optimization.
- Perform restore operations as requested by users or applications teams.
- Support disaster recovery planning, documentation, and periodic testing.
- Validate restoration points and ensure data integrity.
- Troubleshoot issues related to backup failures, repositories, network connectivity, storage communication, and agent errors.
- Collaborate with OS, virtualization, network, and database teams to resolve dependencies.
- Provide root-cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues.
- Ensure compliance with data retention, regulatory requirements, and audit policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation, SOPs, and backup topology diagrams.
- Generate backup reports, SLA performance reports, and audit logs.
- Administer enterprise backup solutions (e.g. Veeam, Commvault,Veritas, Metallic, Rubrik, etc.).
- Install updates, patches, and upgrade backup software components.
- Onboard new servers, applications, and users into the backup system
- Essential Qualifications:
Any IT graduate (
BCA/MCA,BSc/MSc(IT),BE,BTech)

CommvaultSaaS/Metallic cloud Endpoint backup administrator 1 year storong experienceHands-onexperience with backup platforms (Veeam/Commvault/ NetBackup/Rubrik/Veritas).Strongunderstanding of Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud services(Azure/AWS).Knowledgeof backup concepts: retention, deduplication, SLAs, RPO/RTO, storage policies.
Experience
with tape, disk, cloud storage, and archive systems.Basicnetworking knowledge (ports, firewalls, DNS, certificates).Strongtroubleshooting and analytical skills.Strongknowledge on SQL, SAP Oracle, MySQL DB restoration.Certification:- Commvault, Commvault SaaS Cloud .
