Role description


The Assistant Manager – Business Finance will support financial planning, analysis, and business decision-making by working closely with cross-functional teams and finance leadership. The role involves FP&A, market and competitor analysis, operational efficiency initiatives, and implementation of systems and processes to enable data-driven decisions.


Assistant Manager- Business Finance


1. Business Finance & FP&A

· Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and profitability studies

· Prepare analytical dashboards for management


2. Market & Competitive Landscape Analysis

· Conduct ongoing market research, financial benchmarking, and industry trend analysis

· Prepare Competitor landscape, deep analysis, Industry and areas of opportunities.

· Evaluate opportunities to enhance pricing, margin, and cost structures


3. Operational Efficiency & Process Enhancement

· Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and control weaknesses across business units

· Identify best practices of industry and implement.

· Remove bottleneck process and convert into simplified ones.


4. Business Partnering & Day-to-Day Support

· Work closely with (the Finance Controller/Business Finance Lead) on day-to-day tasks

· Prepare executive-ready presentations and MIS for leadership


5. Systems, Processes & Implementation

· Support implementation of digital tools, workflows, and automation initiatives

· Assist in setting up dashboards, trackers, and management reporting systems

· Ensure documentation and SOP creation for seamless execution



Skills Required


  • Strong understanding of Business Finance, FP&A, and Management Accounting
  • Financial modeling, variance analysis, and profitability analysis skills
  • Market research, competitive analysis, and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas, dashboards)
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint for executive presentations
  • Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) is an advantage
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills


Must Have -


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce.
  • CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) preferred
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in Business Finance / FP&A / Corporate Finance
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, MIS, and business performance analysis
  • Hands-on experience in preparing management reports and dashboards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a business-oriented approach
