Role Summary
The Blender Designer will be responsible for creating photorealistic 3D visualizations, product renderings, and cinematic animations of the Pushpak O2 aircraft and its subsystems. This role bridges engineering CAD designs and marketing/investor communications, translating technical specifications into compelling visual narratives for stakeholders, investors, regulatory bodies, and end-users.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Blender 3D software, photorealistic rendering techniques, materials and lighting design, and a strong understanding of aerospace design principles and eVTOL vehicles. You will work closely with the aerospace engineering team, industrial designers, and business development to produce publication-ready visualizations and cinematic content.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties
- High-Fidelity 3D Renderings & Product Visualization
- Convert CAD models (from CATIA, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360) into Blender production-ready assets
- Create photorealistic still renderings of the Pushpak O2 airframe, propulsion systems, landing gear, and interior cabin
- Develop exterior aircraft renderings for marketing collateral, investor decks, and regulatory documentation
- Produce interior cabin visualization, seating configurations, and passenger experience mockups
- Create subsystem visualizations: hydrogen fuel cell architecture, battery modules, avionics, flight control systems
- Materials, Shading & Lighting Design
- Master photorealistic material creation using Principled BSDF, procedural textures, and node-based workflows
- Develop accurate material libraries for aerospace composites, aluminum, titanium, carbon fiber, and specialized coatings
- Implement advanced lighting setups using HDRI (High Dynamic Range Imaging), sunlight simulation, and global illumination
- Create realistic surface finishes reflecting metallic aircraft paint, wear patterns, and environmental weathering
- Optimize render settings for publication-quality outputs while maintaining reasonable compute times
- Cinematic Animation & Motion Graphics
- Produce animated sequences of Pushpak O2 in flight, landing, takeoff, and autonomous operation scenarios
- Create assembly/disassembly animations showing structural and mechanical subsystems
- Develop exploded-view animations for propulsion systems, battery modules, and hydrogen fuel cell integration
- Design motion graphics for investor pitch videos, YouTube content, and marketing campaigns
- Animate system operation sequences: rotor deployment, door mechanisms, landing gear extension, autonomous flight sequences
- Design Collaboration & CAD Integration
- Work with CAD engineers to import, optimize, and prepare 3D models for visualization
- Provide feedback on design elements from a visualization/aesthetic perspective
- Participate in design reviews to ensure visual accuracy and engineering integrity
- Recommend design modifications for improved visual appeal, manufacturability appearance, and aerodynamic storytelling
- Maintain DCC (Digital Content Creation) asset pipelines and version control
- Regulatory & Marketing Deliverables
- Create high-quality renderings for DGCA Type Certification documentation and regulatory submissions
- Develop visualization assets for pitch decks, investor presentations, and funding rounds
- Produce imagery for marketing materials, brochures, website, LinkedIn, and social media campaigns
- Create 360° interactive visualizations and virtual fly-around sequences
- Develop concept art and design studies for future aircraft variants and features
- Rendering Optimization & Technical Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot and resolve rendering artifacts, material inconsistencies, and lighting issues
- Optimize scenes for different output formats: 4K stills, broadcast-quality video, real-time interactive displays
- Implement GPU acceleration (NVIDIA RTX, CUDA) for efficient render farm usage
- Manage large-scale scene files and complex assembly hierarchies
- Document rendering procedures, material specifications, and lighting setups for team reproducibility
Secondary Duties
- Stay current with Blender updates, plugins, and industry best practices
- Mentor junior 3D artists or visualization technicians as team grows
- Participate in team meetings and design brainstorming sessions
- Support video editing and post-production compositing in DaVinci Resolve or Nuke
- Create technical documentation, render specifications, and asset handover guides
