Job Description

We are looking for a skilled professional with 8 to 13 years of experience to lead our retail credit team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit underwriting and management, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Roles and Responsibility
  • Own the entire credit underwriting process for the zone, including consistent application of credit policy and periodic reviews of existing customers.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of policies, guidelines, and processes to ensure alignment with external environment, organizational needs, and regulatory framework.
  • Assess customers sourced by the Sales team according to the credit policy, determine deviations and exceptions, and provide decisions on deals.
  • Monitor the local market monthly through interactions with customers, dealers, branches, and market intermediaries, providing recommendations for corrective action in sourcing and underwriting.
  • Arrange for credit programs and training within the company''s credit framework, and provide inputs to the analytics team for building portfolio analytics and scoring models.
  • Authorize deviations documented by underwriters in compliance with the credit policy.
  • Oversee and initiate follow-ups with external vendors (FI, Legal & Technical valuations) to ensure timely query resolution/report submission and eliminate undue delays.
  • Coordinate with the recoveries team and generate business insights.
  • Manage end-to-end credit approval for the designated zone.
  • Engage in developing, implementing, reviewing, and monitoring various credit programs, and provide training and coaching to upgrade the competency of the team and improve processing efficiency.
  • Efficiently handle the team, keep them motivated, and make quick decisions while being mindful that decision delayed is decision denied.
  • Manage the credit buying process, which monitors turnarounds, approvals, sample review quality checks, and develop cross-functional collaboration to smooth business and ensure quick TAT.
  • Ensure compliance with all Audit/NHB regulations and company-designed processes, policies, and reports.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in credit underwriting or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of credit policy, underwriting, and risk assessment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience in managing credit teams and driving business growth.
  • Educational qualificationsAny Graduate or Postgraduate degree.
