Purpose of the role

The Web Developer is responsible for designing, building, maintaining and optimising websites and landing pages required across Loch’s operational and marketing activities. The role requires strong technical capability, disciplined development practices and the ability to translate business and creative requirements into secure, stable and responsive web assets. The position collaborates closely with the Brand Manager, Performance Marketing team and IT functions to ensure all web properties meet performance, tracking and compliance standards.


Responsibilities and duties

  • Develop, maintain and optimise websites and landing pages on WordPress, Shopify or custom frameworks.
  • Implement responsive, mobile-first designs in line with approved UX and brand guidelines.
  • Ensure clean, modular code with proper documentation and version control.
  • Set up and manage tracking integrations including GA4, Tag Manager, pixels, conversion APIs and custom events.
  • Work with Brand and Marketing teams to align content, creative direction and user experience.
  • Conduct regular site performance audits and implement improvements to page speed, SEO foundations and accessibility.
  • Identify bugs, conduct troubleshooting and carry out timely fixes and updates.
  • Maintain staging environments, testing workflows, backups and structured deployment protocols.
  • Support integrations for CRM forms, payment gateways, APIs and custom plugins.
  • Implement security best practices, routine updates and monitoring.
  • Document coding standards, workflows, and maintenance routines used across the team.


Key deliverables

  • Fully functional, responsive websites and landing pages delivered within agreed timelines.
  • Verified tracking and analytics configurations aligned with GA4, Tag Manager and CRM.
  • Site performance improvements documented and implemented.
  • Clear documentation of codebases, SOPs and deployment processes.
  • Stable, secure and updated web properties with consistent uptime.


Compliance and confidentiality

All development work must be completed using approved systems. Code, credentials and organisational data must be handled confidentially and accessed only for authorised operational purposes. Any public-facing content must comply with brand, UX, tracking and security guidelines.

Essential skills

  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and at least one modern framework (React, Next.js, Vue etc.).
  • Experience with WordPress, Shopify or similar CMS platforms.
  • Ability to implement and troubleshoot GA4, Tag Manager and pixel setups.
  • Understanding of advanced SEO, accessibility and performance optimisation.
  • Strong debugging, QA and structured documentation skills.
  • Experience with Git and version control workflows.
  • Clear communication and ability to translate requirements accurately.
  • High attention to detail and reliability under deadlines.


Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Engineering or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in web development, UI development or full-stack roles.
  • Experience working with marketing or design teams is an advantage.
