Job Title: Visa Specialist Experience: 3-5 years Industry: US Staffing / IT Services Location: Remote (India) Work Timings: CST/PST Job Summary : We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive STEM OPT ViSa pecialist to oversee and ensure full compliance with all federal regulations governing STEM OPT employment for F1 international students in the United States. This role is critical in supporting the end-to-end documentation process, coordinating with U.S. stakeholders, and maintaining rigorous compliance standards to mitigate risk for both the organization and STEM OPT participants. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of U.S. work authorization processes, and up-to-date knowledge of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) requirements. Key Responsibilities: STEM OPT Documentation and Compliance Management: Prepare and review STEM OPT training plans (Form I-983) in collaboration with employers and candidates, ensuring the training plan is customized to the individual student’s academic background and career objectives. Track and manage work authorization expiration dates, employment verification, and maintain accurate records of employment status changes, address updates, and training evaluations. Ensure timely submission of documentation to Designated School Officials (DSOs). Maintain accurate records of employment status changes, address updates, and training evaluations. Coordinate with legal and HR teams to address compliance issues, avoid potential violations, and prepare for possible DHS site visits or audits. Communication and Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for STEM OPT candidates regarding their work authorization reporting obligations, and compliance requirements. Educate managers on STEM OPT regulations and best practices including the E-Verify enrolment. Provide regular updates to U.S. teams on candidate status, documentation timelines, and any compliance risks or upcoming reporting deadlines. Reporting and Analytics: Generate reports on active STEM OPT employees, work authorization expirations, and compliance metrics. Use data analytics to identify process improvements and minimize compliance risks. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in U.S. Recruitment or immigration support. Strong understanding of F-1, STEM OPT, and H-1B work authorization processes. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to interpret and apply complex federal regulations in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and applicant tracking systems.
