Amazon’s Global Energy, Sustainability, and Energy is hiring a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager focused on Building Management Systems (BMS), Solar infrastructure, and Energy Management Programs. This individual will initiate and manage multiple programs and projects using effective time management skills and personal impact to drive complex activities across the organization. The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager supports all Amazon fulfillment business units and site types across India. This role will drive continuous improvement of the BMS, ensure the health and performance of the Solar infrastructure, conduct energy audits, and implement energy conservation retrofits.
This role requires a dynamic individual who can independently manage complex technical programs, lead cross-functional teams, and drive our commitment to sustainability and energy reduction measures. Teamwork is an absolute must to accomplish our goals. You must be able to work within a team while depending on and driving others to accomplish goals for our customers. The successful candidate will possess BMS, IT, and Solar expertise coupled with a background in utilizing IPMVP style Measurement and Verification calculations and reporting. Key job responsibilities:
  • Lead the execution and on-site delivery of BMS upgrades, solar system operations, and energy retrofit projects across fulfillment sites.
  • Own the full project lifecycle: audit, scope definition, vendor coordination, commissioning, and verification of performance.
  • Drive measurable outcomes such as system uptime, energy cost savings, audit closure rates, and retrofit completion.
  • Actively manage contractors and partners to ensure quality, timeliness, and compliance with Amazon standards and regulations.
  • Deliver root cause analyses and corrective actions for recurring issues, ensuring rapid recovery and prevention.
  • Establish and track KPIs to monitor effectiveness of BMS and solar infrastructure, implementing corrective actions where performance lags.
  • Apply best practices and emerging technologies directly to field execution to continually improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Provide clear and concise progress updates to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting risks, dependencies, and mitigations.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of asset improvement strategies, ensuring solutions are practical, executable, and deliver sustained results.
  • Travel up to 60% for on-site project delivery, commissioning, and issue resolution.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software)
  • Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy, Sustainability, or a related technical discipline.
  • Hands-on expertise with Building Management Systems (BMS), solar infrastructure, and energy management programs.
  • Strong knowledge of IPMVP-style Measurement & Verification methodologies, calculations, and reporting.
  • Experience conducting energy audits and implementing energy conservation measures/retrofits.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Sustainability, or Business Administration (MBA).
  • 5+ years of relevant technical program management experience in BMS, renewable energy, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Familiarity with international building codes, energy regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Proven success in driving continuous improvement programs, technology adoption, and integration of new sustainability practices into existing infrastructure.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams across geographies.
  • Knowledge of data analytics tools, dashboards, or automation platforms to measure and track energy performance.
  • Certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED AP, or equivalent sustainability credentials.
