A Tender Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire tendering process within an organization, from identifying opportunities and preparing proposals to submission and post-submission activities. The primary goal is to secure contracts and projects by delivering competitive, compliant, and high-quality bids that align with company objectives and client requirements. *Key Responsibilities* - Manage and oversee the end-to-end tender process, including opportunity identification, bid planning, proposal preparation, and submission. - Coordinate with various internal departments (sales, technical, legal, finance) to gather necessary documentation and information for tender submissions. - Analyse tender documentation, assess requirements, and prepare compliance checklists to ensure all client and regulatory standards are met. - Develop and manage tender schedules, ensuring all deadlines are met and submissions are timely. - Review and clarify bid conditions, manage the preparation of proposals, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. - Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure favourable outcomes for the organization. - Maintain accurate records of all tender documentation, correspondence, and pricing information. - Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and new business opportunities to inform bid strategies. - Present tender proposals to senior management and participate in negotiation sessions as required. - Ensure compliance with client requirements, legal standards, and industry regulations throughout the tendering process. - Contribute to cost and price calculations, risk assessments, and the development of strategies to maximize profitability. - Conduct post-submission reviews and implement improvements based on feedback and bid performance metrics. *Required Qualifications and Skills* - Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field is typically preferred. - Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in tender management, bid management, or a related field. - Strong understanding of contract law, tendering procedures, and procurement processes. - Excellent organizational, project management, and time-management skills. - Well-developed negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. - Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously, often under tight deadlines. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and tender management software. - Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities. *Additional Competencies* - Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. - Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards. - Experience in cost estimation and budget management.
