This role will manage the maintenance of power plant equipment, ensuring technical compliance and efficient operation. This role will manage resources, optimize processes, and execute overhauls within budget constraints while supporting emergency responses. This role also involves budgeting and inventory management to enhance reliability and cost-effectiveness.Responsibilities
Team Lead Mechanical Boiler (Rotary)
Maintenance Leadership And Strategy
Conduct resource planning and allocation for coal feeders, coal bunkers, coal mill, all fans, and FGD area fans to optimize efficiency.Manage the availability of boiler rotary equipment, including proactive maintenance and prompt repair to minimize downtime.Monitor and ensure the execution of Annual Overhaul (AOH) and Capital Overhaul (COH) within allocated budgets and manpower.Support Operations team for Emergency handling .Process Optimization And Project Management
Monitor contract management, including deployment, attendance of business associates, and bill processing.Review and modify AOH and COH reports, identifying areas for improvement and cost savings.Identify new projects and maintenance practices to enhance the execution of maintenance planning.Record and analyse critical parameters of mills to inform strategic decisions and maintenance scheduling.Operational Improvement And Excellence
Participate and ensure structural trainings for all team members in the boiler area.Prepare different MIS reports such as safety MIS, ORM/SRM, Legatrix reports, etcPrepare reports and give inputs for Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Zero Forced Outage (ZFO), and technical audits including ISO, IWMS, 5S, etc.Support operations team for emergency handling and ensure robust emergency response protocols.Prepare Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs) for the area, reviewing and modifying them based on regular maintenance issues.Budgeting And Inventory Management
Provide inputs for budget preparation and manage the budget for boiler rotary maintenance and operations.Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement and ensure in-house maintenance and refurbishment of equipment to reduce reliance on external vendors and control costs.Focus on enhancing equipment reliability though indigenous spare development, reverse engineering of spares, and develop drawings of critical spares.Review financial reports and variances to budget, taking corrective actions as necessary to align with financial objectives.Prepare and review Non-Financial Authorization (NFA) and Purchase Requisition (PR) approval sheets, as guided by the Section Head.Track the availability of spares and manage inventory, preparing documentation for procurement based on actual vs. planned requirements.Business Sustainability
Ensure adherence to IMS, AWMS, DISHA, and CHETNA guidelines within the department and implement CHETNA drives such as SRFA and FSIPPA through subordinates.Maintain the safety of personnel and equipment through proper training and adherence to safety protocols.Manage Audit permits, tools, tackles, and resources during the execution of work to ensure safety and compliance.Ensure compliance with notifications (predictive, preventive, and corrective) and carry out maintenance in a timely manner.Digitization And Automation

Educational Qualification:
B.tech/BE in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree related field from a recognized institution.Work Experience (Range Of Years)
11+ years of experience in power plant maintenance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role overseeing boiler rotary equipment.Preferred Industry
Experience in the thermal power generation industry, specifically with expertise in the operation and maintenance of coal-fired power plants.
