The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain of raw materials (RM), packaging materials (PM), and finished goods for nutraceuticals and cosmetics manufacturing. This includes sourcing, procurement, vendor management, logistics, inventory control, and cost optimization, with strong alignment to regulatory requirements (FSSAI, AYUSH, USFDA, GMP).
The SCM will also ensure complete integration of supply chain operations into the Manufacturing ERP, driving digital visibility, real-time tracking, and zero-error processes across procurement, stores, and distribution.
1. Procurement & Vendor Management
• Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers for raw materials, excipients, and packaging components.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts with vendors.
• Build strong supplier relationships and implement dual sourcing strategies to minimize risks.
• Maintain a vetted and compliant supplier ecosystem, aligned with regulatory and quality standards.
2. Inventory & Material Planning
• Develop and execute demand forecasts in line with production schedules and NPD pipelines.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Ensure accurate stock management using FIFO/FEFO practices.
• Digitize inventory management and reporting through the Manufacturing ERP.
3. Logistics & Distribution
• Manage inbound logistics for raw and packaging materials, and outbound logistics for finished goods.
• Coordinate with 3PLs and courier partners to ensure timely client deliveries.
• Monitor delivery timelines, freight costs, and implement efficiency improvements.
• Ensure compliance with cold chain and special handling requirements where applicable.
4. Quality & Compliance
• Collaborate with QA/QC to ensure all materials meet specifications and certifications.
• Ensure supplier documentation (COA, MSDS, certifications) is captured and linked through the ERP.
• Support audits with full supply chain traceability records.
• Ensure compliance with FSSAI, AYUSH, USFDA, and international standards.
5. Manufacturing ERP Management
• Own the supply chain module within the Manufacturing ERP and ensure accurate, real-time data capture.
• Drive ERP adoption across procurement, inventory, and logistics teams.
• Generate reports and insights from ERP dashboards for leadership and client reporting.
• Continuously optimize processes to reduce manual errors and enhance traceability.
6. Process & Team Leadership
• Build and manage a supply chain team (buyers, storekeepers, logistics coordinators).
• Establish SOPs for procurement, inventory, and logistics functions.
• Introduce best practices and automation to scale operations efficiently.
• Foster a culture of accountability, speed, and compliance.
• Education: MBA in Supply Chain / Operations / Procurement OR B.Pharm / M.Pharm with SCM specialization.
• Proven experience in Pharma / Nutraceuticals / Cosmetics / FMCG supply chain management.
• Strong knowledge of raw and packaging material sourcing.
• Familiar with ERP/SCM systems and capable of owning ERP module operations.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks (FSSAI, AYUSH, GMP, USFDA).
• Strong negotiation, vendor development, and cost optimization skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup culture with six working days and high operational intensity.
