JOB DECRIPTION Prepared By: Verified By: Document No. Plant Head Operation Head SBFL/JD/STM/2025 Job Description: Store Manager Industries: Engineering Metal Fabrication Industry Department: Stores & Material Management Reporting To: Plant Manager / Operations Head Location: Kumbalgodu – Bengaluru-560074 JOB PURPOSE To manage and control all store operations, including material receipt, storage, issuance, stock accuracy, and documentation, ensuring smooth production flow and zero material shortages in a steel sheet metal fabrication environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Material Receipt & Verification  Receive raw materials (MS/SS sheets, tubes, profiles, hardware, consumables, spares) as per purchase orders.  Verify quantity, quality, and specifications along with QC/inspection team.  Ensure proper GRN (Goods Receipt Note) entry and documentation.  Report shortages, damages, and discrepancies immediately. Storage & Inventory Management  Organize materials based on type, size, thickness, and product requirements.  Maintain FIFO/LIFO system as applicable.  Ensure safe storage of sheet metal, welding consumables, chemicals, and spare parts.  Maintain ideal stock levels for fast-moving items. Issuance of Materials  Issue materials to production based on approved Material Requisition / Job Cards.  Ensure traceability and record-keeping for each issued item.  Coordinate with production and planning for daily/weekly material requirements. Inventory Control & Stock Accuracy  Conduct daily cycle counts and monthly stock audits.  Maintain accurate stock levels in ERP/software.  Reduce inventory variances, material wastage, and pilferage.  Monitor minimum, maximum, and reorder levels. Documentation & ERP  Maintain updated records: GRN, MRN, Issue Slips, Return Notes, Scrap Notes.  Update entries in ERP/Excel/Inventory software daily.  Prepare MIS reports: Stock Summary, Fast/Slow-moving items, Monthly consumption. Scrap Handling  Maintain separate area for scrap segregation (MS, SS, aluminum, packaging).  Record daily scrap generation and coordinate with disposal vendors.  Ensure weight accuracy and documentation. Safety, 5S & Compliance  Implement 5S and safety protocols in the store.  Ensure proper labeling, stacking, and housekeeping.  Enforce safe handling of heavy materials with forklifts, cranes, and manual lifting. Key Skills & Competencies  Strong knowledge of sheet metal materials and fabrication consumables.  Hands-on experience with ERP/Inventory software.  Strong organizational & documentation skills.  Ability to manage manpower and coordinate with multiple departments.  Knowledge of safety practices and material handling equipment.  Good analytical and reporting skills. Qualification & Experience  Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering preferred.  5–10 years of experience in stores management, preferably in metal fabrication or engineering industry.  Experience with sheet metal, welding materials, CNC laser/punch/bender consumables is an added advantage.
